Kirk is the captain and a proven club champion. He can say whatever he likes. This year Hally has been behaving like a pork chop or a loose cannon, sometimes both on the same day. A selfish style of football that he needn't be engaging in. From a 'no dickheads' perspective he's been treated quite favourably. Ricky Mott only needed one durry.

Can't see anything wrong with what Kirky said about Barry.

The club had to take a stand against Barry and the captain is in the best position to present the clubs stance on this matter to the media.

Me thinks Baz has lost the plot and although I hate to say it, we will play better without him at the moment.

So he answered the medias question(s) (which are not in the article). Maybe he was too honest in his answer....

We all know the media being such models of integrity and honesty wouldn't take the comments out of context.

I am sure that B2 was on the news the other night commenting on the incident.

ROK, as one who understood the implication of your sig, I have thought about it and while I can see why Kirk's comments might be seen as self-righteous, and yes, I am over the whole "Bloods brotherhood" ethos, I must echo the opinion of Jewels - Kirky's dedication and determination on the field has been nothing short of inspirational, so stuff it, he can say what he bloody well likes.

Maybe he was given permission to talk to the media.

So a player gets critisised for talking in cliches and dodging the issue, but when a player comes out and says what he thinks about Hall, he's critisised again?

Kirk has every right to say what he said and Hall needs to stop being an idiot. His attempted strike on saturday was a selfish act and he doesn't appear to care whether or not it damages our chances this year.

Kirk puts in 100% every single week, and he's the true captain of the Swans. If Bazza had half the brain power that Kirk does, he'd be one of the top 20 players in the league.

I suspect not just given permission but asked to comment. His remarks were made in a media interview at the SCG at training. No doubt one of the club captains was asked by the club to answer the media's questions.

What's more, Kirk's comments are supportive of Hall, they do not slam him, just his actions on Saturday night. And in the light of Hall's reaction that he didn't think he'd done anything wrong, I thought what Kirk said was completely justified.

I think Kirky is pretty skillful at doing the Captain's media call. More skilled than his footy certainly. Happy for him to continue, he's clearly multi-skilled.

My point is that, and its only my opinion, that Kirk was going on about Barry being a good person but what he did was unacceptable etc, as if he had done some abhorent thing, when it was only an air swing. HOnestly there are far more important things in the world to worry about and comment on. Im sure that Barry is remorseful enough - he doesnt need for it to be on TV every night with another member of the LG making a public comment about it. Let him have his weeks suspension and move on!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

                            Hall was a captain too.
                            A premiership captain.
Yet he seems to have little respect, all because he seems to be going through a tough time.

                            That's kind of sad

Yes, there are more important things in the world to worry about, but I doubt Kirk was asked to comment on them. As spokesperson for the team on that particular occasion, his comments were fair and articulate. How that equates to Kirky being "perfect" is a mystery. Did anyone mention his comments about Barry Hall being a good bloke?

I heard that the person getting stuck into the team on Sat. night was C. Bolton not Brett Kirk.

If that was the case, no-one would ever bother taking the field in Rugby Union. Too busy with mergers and acquisitions.
