And he's gone there to learn, so good luck to him.

I just think the bloke is full of @@@@. Soft @@@@. Really. All his chest beating about how he was ready and didn't need to be an Assistant throughout last season. Fast forward to the end of '07. Had the Carlton job on toast. Decided to "wait." Needed to gain more experience in the media.
The Carlton job gets snapped up by Ratten and we're forced to endure another 6 months of Voss's chest beating "I'm ready" crap. Comes to the GC, comments on their concessions, does the little media spiels that go along with GC17. Gets the job on toast again and whats Mr "I'm Ready" do? Goes to West Coast as an assitant coach. Weak.

IMO and Dermies the WC are a bit silly to take him on knowing full well that after he has gained all the secrets he will depart and use them against them.
If you assume most assistant coaches want to be senior coaches (and Voss clearly does) then it would make sense to use the assistants as best you can and then hope they go to a club that will do little damage from the inside knowledge they have. Now if Voss was to go to a power team like Collingwood I would agree on your statement entirely, but unlikely with the GC. You have a good case when it comes to the saints vs the swans re Ross Lyon.

Yeah, now that you think about it, apart from earlier this year, Carlton haven't played well against us since assistant coach Woosha left Carlton.

Fair call but he has finally taken the advice of many of the cognoscenti and decided to do two years under a pretty savvy coach. All his previous aspirations have wisely been shelved. In two years he will be worth a few more bob.
