I looked at the fox replay and couldn't work out the second. Commentators speculated that Jack was too close to the mark so interfering but he was at least 3-4 metres off. didn't make sense to them and nothing obvious on the replay.

It was McViegh, who's first term was also lamentable. He looked a lot like the McVeigh of old. I seem to remember him, running through the corridor, not much pressure, and he dropped the ball cold while indecision reined. Then not bottling it up....A hawthorn goal was the result. He has been good most of this season...Sewell hasn't played for 2 months, had his appendicts out 10 days ago, and he towelled him up. Please let's not have the old McVeigh back.

Look at the quoted text - I was talking about the second 50.

          What's wrong?

The problem largely seems to be that the Swans are cracking under the pressure put onto them by the opposing team, infact sometimes it seems it is more between the ears rather than game pressure eg. McVeigh fumbling the ball when he had no pressure but was indecisive with his options, or players constantly missing very gettable goals.

There must also be more of a consequence for poor form - That is drop a player if he plays 3 or more bad/average games eg. Everitt, LRT, Ablett, Buchanan (although he played a little better this week). Sometimes a kick in the backside and some form in the reserves is what is required (disregard Davis with this statement).

I say that's fine but who in hell recruited the people in Sydney's forward line on sunday ?

buchanan's technique is laughable. There isn't any. Jog in have a slog at the ball with your foot.
What do these guys do all day at training? Play the Playstation?
wasted efforts in front of goal debilitate a team more than anything else. scoreboard pressure would've created more pressure all over the ground.
The very accurate kickers like Gablett kick the ball very close to ground level especially on the run, there are a few Swannies who will never know how to kick accurately so i hope the young ones can learn how to do it. They seem OK in the warm up but under pressure it doesn't happen, a bit like my golf game.

                Intersting read from Bludnutz,much appreciated.
I actaully spoke to one of the players from the weekend and he said the wind made goalking very hard.......look at Buddys for an example.
However if you are playing at the top level of a sport you must be able to adjust your technique to the conditions.

Doesnt matter there BBB,if memory serves me if McVeigh's opponent had run through the mark so Macca has every right to follow, there fore no 50 meter penalty.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

It doesn't work like that unfortunately, it's a ploy often used by a player to lose their opponent or milk a 50. If you follow your man across the mark you will be penalised.

I was at the game and missed the first one, but I thought the second one for Jack crossing through the mark.

I also would like to think there was some confusion as to who would take the mark - Jack may have thought he would, but then tried to move away but got caught between the players coming down the ground.
