    Unfortunately the finals do not start in mid July. The crazy draw this year has created anomalies. I am happy where we are but am realistic enough to realize we are not good enough to make the top 4. I hope I get egg on my face but doubt it. we are not within a bull's roar of the top teams.

      They weren't used to such a long pre-season, they are in a state of inertia ATM.
      They might snap out of it and play with such andredalin and intensity to amaze everyone on the weekend or the following weekend... with
      The Swannies you never know whats going to happen next.
      They will amaze and excite and then bore you to sleep.
      With The Cats it's flat the boards for 120 mins. They are cool to watch.
      Even without Ling they will go back to back.

        Im with Hot Potato and Swanner collectively!

        Firstly, Its better having a lull now, and we've been beaten by good teams, they'll kick back in and probably beat Carlton, Adelaide and Freo in the next 4 weeks. We traditionally fluctuate through seasons, usually dont win until round 5, this year cus of the pre-season its coming later, and if you have watched the Swans over the years , come September we are good to go.

        Secondly, Roosy is a great coach! We wouldnt have had 2005 without him, we would have had Terry Wallace waxing lyrical about blah blah blah...and still be the longest drought in the comp!

        If you look at the other 15 coaches would you rather have any of them instead?

        I'm a Lethal fan so if Roosy wasnt there Id have him, but even he probably wouldnt do as well as Roosy has.

        Summary:
        Clarkson = the whole team would be suspended
        Choco = ?? speaks a different language (something to do with ties)
        Wallace = see above
        Craig = some scientific tea that will maybe work
        Harvey = dont even go there
        Knights = good man (wont slam him just yet) but not for us
        Laidley = anyone remember the postal problems in the USA?
        Rocket = love rocket, but we are still paying off the broken phones
        Bailey = *sigh*
        Worsfold = excluded....nuf said!
        Malthouse = i still wonder why he talked about aliens
        Ratten = blue, always will be (good luck to him!)
        Lyon = *Ross was the money really worth it?"

        NOTE: No disrespect intended towards any of these people

        I save special mention for Bomber. He has been put through hell and deserves all he has earnt. He is much like Roos in the way he has achieved it!

        We shouldn't bag our coach because after this year the Swans will have played more consecutive finals than any other club in 20 years, and he has worked with the players to make that possible!
        "We talked five times. I called him twice, and he called me twice." :confused: :confused: :confused: :D

          I've been waiting for years to see Neil Craig actually crack a smile, he finally managed a little one today when Choco was trying to rev the game up on the weekend. Good on ya Neil.

          Malthouse is now 24 years into continuous coaching, has coached two Grannies, two r/ups, was players Assoc coach in 85 & 91, has just been appointed coach of the Intl Series and got the WCE into the finals every year for 9 years. He rates.
