It was obvious that he would be back this week - one weeks suspension by the AFL and one week by the leadership group. It is just a shame that the psychologist was the patsy/fall guy in this instance. Although, it may help Brecht sell more copies of his books....

I wonder if the leadership group preside supreme court style with wigs and robes?

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Now they look like a joke. For Roosy to expect the general public, other than the most one eyed of supporters , to believe a few sessions of couch work have healed his mind, just when MOL is ruled out, is laughable. Hopefully in future any inhouse sanctions will be just that...inhouse.
Having said all that...thankfully sanity prevailed.
Did anyone say he had a mental problem? What do you mean by mental? He had a behavioural problem (anger, lack of self control and inability to focus) which may have been caused by what (depression or stress) no one knows or has a right to know. If it was an episodic depression then a two week period of "recovery" is not unusual or a joke. The cause of his obvious behavioural problem is a matter of confidentiality. The club far from looking like a joke has acted responsibly and under its legal obligations. Your suggestion that the club deliberately mislead its supporters and the AFL and publicly lie regarding his non-selection would have been exposed very quickly.

Agree totally, just don't think there was any need to suspend him in the first place - that's what I was getting at. Clearly there wasn't, as he's 'recovered' in the space of 2 weeks.

If you don't know what the diagnosis was how can you comment on the recovery time? There are behavioural problems that can be dealt with in psychological therapy within a few weeks to enable a person to return to a relationship or a job. Anger management is one of them.

yeah rightio Dr Connolly - but this was miraculous - he was still considered a headcase as at last Sunday when he wasnt playing - but this is a miracle I tell you - A MIRACLE! In all seriousness, I'm glad he's back and I hope that he has a blinder and he proves all of those doubting Thomas's and Thomasina's wrong.

No doubt that returning him this week makes the whole indefinite suspension a bit of a joke. As I said at the time they should never have come out with such an announcement.

Agreed. All it has done is put more focus on Barry Hall and as a result, I'd imagine clubs will try to get under his skin more than they normally would.

exactly, I would really object to being made out to be a total nutcase so publicly by my employer ,colleagues & the media. So Baz prove em wrong!!!

But Hall will be a moving target - I hope that he keeps his head, kicks a bag of goals and get on with life.
