North Melbourne have just been slammed by all and sundry for handling the Shannon Grant incident in that fashion, so much so they admitted they handled it poorly.

      Again...

NMW, what do you think they should have said ??

If it was an episodic depression then a two week period of "recovery" is not unusual or a joke. The cause of his obvious behavioural problem is a matter of confidentiality. The club far from looking like a joke has acted responsibly and under its legal obligations. Your suggestion that the club deliberately mislead its supporters and the AFL and publicly lie regarding his non-selection would have been exposed very quickly.
          Yep I did.
The way people were carrying on here, it was a mental problem.
If you want to get technical, it is a mental problem - to do with the mind.

Simply, if the club were as concerned with Hall as they made out, he wouldn't be back yet.

Then he should have been sorted out weeks before the second 'incident'
Clearly what they tried over those 7 weeks to help him sort himself out didn't work.
Then all of a sudden he's A-OK in 2 weeks.

Weren't Shannon Grants incidents off the footy field? and who's to say that Nth just put up the white flag to shut the media and their critics up and get some peace? Do we have to know absolutely every little itty bitty thing about a player and their personal life? I dont think we do. What would have the reaction have been if, god forbid, Barry Hall took all of this so badly that he would have tried to do himself in? the Media have the power to make or break a person - the media should be accountable too.

                  I'll answer.

They should have come out and said that Hall is not playing within the guidelines set out by the club, and he would be spoken to.

                  That';s it.
No talk of his private issues.
                  No talk of club suspensions.

Seriously, surely all those people who who were slapping the back of the Swans when they indefinitely suspended him could not be advocating a return so early now?
I mean it's been two weeks.
All the tongue in cheek comments here are reflective of the fact that it is laughable that Hall settled his 'mental issues' so quickly.

Where are all the posts saying that the Swans have done the wrong thing by the club, by Hall, by the team and by the fans?
                        Seriously, I am.

Hall just needed to be pulled aside and told in no uncertain terms by the club to pull his @@@@ing head in and that he is only one member of a large squad. That's what the club did, and I applaud them for it. It's not rocket science. Hall was getting too big for his boots and needed to be pulled back into line. That is all, end of story. The rest is just smoke screen.

But did the club and the leadership group caberet singers have to get on the tv and in the papers everyday and keep going on and on about it? No!!! As I said previously the media can make or break a person - and when the person breaks the media put their hands up and say "it wasnt us!" It should have all been handled in house. One media statement made and thats all - the actual incident didnt match the media over reaction.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
