5 clangers in a game of just 7 disposals is a fairly ordinary effort, even you could admit that.

I recall a couple of those tackles and they were decent, but surely a man of Bevan's talents could have turned some those tackles into a few extra contested possessions or two.

I thought he played quite poorly.

In all fairness I imagine that his 3 frees against would be included in his clanger count? He actually seemed a bit too trigger happy with his tackling to me, he didn't seem to care too much if the player actually had the ball.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

And in all fairness the umpiring was diabolical. One of the frees against him was for a completed tackle where a Crow disposed of the ball in the tackle. Physically impossible for him to not complete the tackle. He is a punishing tackler and was being penalised for heavy tackles.

If he is so versatile and such an awesome forward, in a game where we struggled to kick goals and weren't having a great deal of trouble stopping Adelaide kicking goals, why did Roos not let Bevan off the leash to take the game apart and score a few goals?

I was thinking at three quarter time, when we only had 4 goals on the board, "if only we had another tackling option to go up forward".

At least we won the tackle count - if only there was a premiership flag for that!

Yep, a defensive forward would do the trick.

Rumpole for the disillusioned bandwagonner there's always next season. With a rigorous cleanout of the list, no names no pack drill, we can go shopping for a forward who actually runs, tries and kicks goals.

There was in "05" and nearly "06" except for the drug cheats.

You could just acknowledge that it was a clever line.

Touche. But just tackling won't do it this year.
