McVeigh was injured for the last Q and wasn't our worst up until then. Perhaps we are finding out that he is not going to be the elite midfielder touted by some in the media. A handy forward/midfielder but not the engine room many thought he would be.

Or maybe he needs more than one year of being tagged, and a preseason in the gym, to be able to shake tags. Honestly, writing him off after one year in which he has been fantastic, but unable to shake a tag on occasions, is ridiculous.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I consider the Doggies game a big one. He wasn't exactly missing then.

You may be right, I think we said the same thing last year but he has improved this year and if he can go another step next year it can only be good for us. He can find a goal, I wouldnt mind seeing him playing FWD more.

          Cheers

He wasn't tagged ,i was there he was tagging pendelbury and s@@@ himself on numerous times. Not one 1st posession or clearence a overated dud who should be part of a trade for Kerr or Brown.
Some people are blinded by his 29 goals this year all received in soft positions, how many did Schneider kick last year!

Where did Schneider play last year? Schneider was a forward. He was in the team to kick goals. Kicking 29 goals from the midfield is a huge feat. Gary Ablett Jnr, who used to play as a half forward, and is almost unarguably the best player in the competition right now, has kicked 22 goals from the midfield. I'm not saying McVeigh is anywhere near as good as Ablett, but considering that one of Ablett's many strengths is kicking goals from the midfield, I think McVeigh does alright.
