No surprises that NOG is dropped, surprised that Fosdike is omitted.

Mal isn't up to it at the moment. Needs a full pre season to get his confidence back.
Fosdike was virtually unsighted and needs more game time in the 2's.
Nog is sadly out of form.
The only other change I'd like to see is Grundy out Brennan in.

If that's the case for Melch, a bit unfortunate after getting the risky knee job and still missing virtually the entire season.

I don't mind seeing Grundy in the forward line and LRT up back as listed.

So in the end, that knee operation has really been a waste. Instead of just taking a year off to fully recover, he's been in an out of the side, picking up further injuries and never really making an impact.

I don't think it's his knee, keeping him out of the team. Most like not match fit or another injury.

There's still a fair bit of smart money on Barry missing and Fossie playing. However, you would have to wonder what if anything Fossie's omission from our best 22 says for his long-term future at the club, when (based on what I saw last week) he's at near enough to full fitness.

With the knee bone connected to the calf muscle, et al, I think that the success of Malceski's radical ACL operation could be described as marginal at best.

In general, it does look like near enough to the strongest side we could realistically put on the park right now. No excuses if we lose. Absolutely no excuses if we don't show that we've learned something from our last 5 losses against them.
