    Game Over

    Collingwood 18.10 118
    Sydney 10.13 73

Although the Swans won the final quarter, their overall performance was poor right from the start and the hoodoo continues. The Swans were pantsed in the forward line, back line, midfield and ruck (except for hitouts). The backline was the major weakness with multiple changes to match-ups and the likes of LRT, B2, Barry, Grundy and Richards comprehensively beaten. Kepler Bradley could've done a better job on Cloke than LRT... or Barry.

There weren't too many positives with the exception of Hall and Moore kicking 3 goals each, although Hall was frustrated and Moore receiving a few gift goals. B1, Kirk, Mattner and Kennelly were the better players racking up disposals and trying to get the ball in the forward 50. Vespa showed that he could play up forward but was absent throughout the second half and might be the next Nick Davis (plus effort and tackling pressure).

The "star quarterback" Bevan was ordinary, Spida is almost certainly done as a footballer, Goodes forward line impact was limited, Grundy got plenty of the ball but his role in the backline is questionable, McVeigh was disappointing and is likely to miss out next week, ROK was okay but was beaten at times.

With Brisbane losing to the Blues, the Swans have done enough to make the top eight with a much better percentage than Richmond who'll no doubt beat Melbourne (unless we get pantsed by 200+ against Brisbane). Still it would be great to get the win over Brisbane next week at the SCG. If the backline functions the way it did tonight, Brown and Bradshaw will kick at least 15 goals between them.

Ist time Ive left the footy early ever.

Hate getting on here bagging blokes and our form , but we are gone.
Some on here will thrive on it as well , you know who you are as well.

Very hard to take tonight , especially considering what Collingwood had out.
We are simply shot and our good players are out of form.

Gone is our willingness to work for each other and we have no PACE at all.

Miracles would have to happen for us to make it now.

Winning the final quarter makes it even more frustrating. It's typical for us to start playing well when the game is gone.

I cant wait till Monday night's On The Couch, to hear the bagging we'll get. It will be very reminescent of a RWOL diatribe I fear.

I can't fathom the comprehensive underperformance of our defence almost simultaneously. Bolton, Kennelly, Mattner, Leo, and LRT just aren't cutting it. Against the dangerous forward line of Brisbane I don't hold out too much hope that they will match it.

                      So true.
Our backbone of our sucess is simply out of form and not up to it.

Bolton, Richards, Barry - defenders that were sent up forward to try to change things up. WHY THE @@@@ WASN'T GRUNDY PUT THERE?! Grundy made his name (what name he has made) as a forward. He hardly had a massively important job that nobody else could do, taking on Dawes. Roos showed he was willing to rotate backmen through the forwardline. Roos has stated that Grundy is playing as a defender in order to learn how to play forward. So why? WHY?

Boy was that @@@@ty to watch. At least against Geelong we played half decently. We were just horrible.

LRT, well, I stick up for him, but he was @@@@ty tonight. His first quarter was abominable. He didn't disgrace himself defensively on Cloke once he was switched on to the big man (conceded just the 2 goals in 3 quarters), but Cloke still collected a lot of the ball up on the wing, and influenced the game. LRT had a few nice touches, a few horrible ones. Bad. Not "delist" bad, but still bad.

Mattner was horrible with his ball use, but he laid 10 tackles, so I'll forgive him.

Well, hopefully we'll come away with a win against the Lions. With any luck, we'll be able to get a couple of finals games under the belts of our younguns.

It concerns me that the great move to try and change things around after halftime was to move Craig Bolton and Leo Barry to the forward line. Groundbreaking stuff.

Roos needs to move himself back to the coaches' box.

I think there are some serious issues at the club. We were poor skillwise and effort. That reflects incredibly poorly on both the leadership at the club and the coaching staff.

Worse than that we played at VFL standard. They were not much better than us on paper but they make us look entirely second rate.

LRT is not a footballer's jockstrap but tonight was not just his fault. If the midfield is pasted and we can't get the ball over half way for 15 minutes the defence will certainly look second rate

we are so slow all over the park it is incredible. we desperately need some outside midfielders that can run and concetrate on getting the ball - to have leon david run us ragged, shane o'bree run away from jude, everyone run away from kirky etc it is just embarassing
