I am saddened by what I just witnessed.

We must face the awful truth that we are a team of old blokes past their prime and second grade hacks recruited to satisfy Paul Roos fixation for not 'disappointing' the Sydney market. In treading the well trod ground of recruiting to bolster an over rated listed, he is navigating our club to ruin.

I fear that unless Paul Roos grows some balls in dealing with our list, we are destined for an extended period at the foot of the ladder.

Am I over reacting?

Geeze, its time to put the broom through the swans, and get a new coach i think. I really think that we are suffering now for the brand of footy that got us the premiership in 05. We've got a severe underinvestment in skill...

Not over reacting at all. Our list is looking absolutely appalling at the moment. Take out our best 5 or 6 players and you'd have one of the worst sides in the AFL.

Game just about summed up when our two semi-decent midfielders collide in the middle of the ground and both come off for the worse.

Barry's giving me the ijits. He's in great form, sure the ball isn't coming down his way, but on the rare occasions it's made it's way forward, he looks intent on hurting someone needlessly. Shannon Cox looks like he might be in real trouble before the game is out.

Leo's probably run his race, but we haven't got any big bodies to replace him, and in no way WHATSOEVER is Grundy an apt replacement. Grundy's @@@@.

Seriously, where the @@@@ has Jack gone in the last month? Barely see him.

This is the legacy of the Spirit of the Bloods. Not a skillful passage of play in the first half, but Jude did a great job on Buchanan. We are poo.

The rudimentary of kicking the football even 25-30 mins to a team mate has almost totally deficient in this Sydney outfit tonight, a mate just txted me to say did they send out a team of girl guides.
They should have stayed out with the Auskick kids during halftime.

Oh and the Kookaburras are up 4-2 in the bronze medal game. Am looking forward to watching the Opals play later tonight!

That is the big danger. I have seen a team tonight that brings back all the nostalgic memories of an empty SCG and 22 straight losses, or whatever it was. At least next year, if we continue to watch this rabble, there wont be any need to get there early on to get a good possie. Tonights performance so far is probably the worst I have witnessed under Roosie, and it does unrerline the fact we have recruited badly (stop gap to please the market, rather than build the team) and that our former not-bad players are indeed over the hill.

Richard Hinds wrote in the SMH 17/06/02 The Swans play "without pride, honour or hope". He could just rehash the copy on Monday.

I'd like to know what the new gameplan was that we supposedly brought tonight.

Whatever it is, it is impossible to implement any gameplan without the skills to carry it out.

Whereas a team like Geelong hand balls with intent, we are hand balling because we've seen other teams do it but are passing to players under pressure, to feet and generally look like we have no idea.

Hall looks like he'll belt someone before the game's out. Not good signs and his berating of teammates proved once and for all that the bloods code is dead and buried.

Hate to say it but Kirk looks old and slow and kicking much worse than usual.

Leo Barry is passed it as an AFL footballer unfortunately. Unlucky with some umpiring decisions but the laws of the game have changed and he hasn't been unable to adapt.

Grundy is a good ACTAFL player. Why not throw him forward for the rest of the game to see what he can do in his best position.

Only three good players for us - Jude, Buchanan and Vespremi.
