    Is It Time...????????

It hurts to say but I think Roos has run his race - a damn good job he has done.

Now it is time to hand over the reigns.

Whoever get the role needs to think long and hard at the cattle on the field.

Leo - one se4ason too many
LRT - sorry but not gonna make it
Tadgh - take the opportunity now to win the All Ireland
Spida - body can't deliver anymore
BBH - time to build a new structure
Benny - a good servant who did well

I don't think Roos can be blamed for the pathetic skill execution. It's clear they are still trying to play on and run hard out of defence but our skills just aren't up to it.

It would be the only way to clean out the deadwood. Otherwise same old same old.

Given a rebuild is inevitable it may be better to find a new coach if Roos isn't in it for the long haul.

Yeah look i recon that our playing style that has been so successful previously is now leading to problems - we just dont have the skill or execution. I think we have underinvested in skills and creative play.

FFS, you really are a goon. I back Roos. Some players can be lost.

I thought this thread was going to suggest Gough Whitlam for coach!

I respect the man too, but he has intimated that he is not career coach and by that I take it he is not in for the long haul.

In light of the last two years - relying on the same game plan and players to deliver. Perhaps it is time to move on, let someone else take charge and develop the playing group. The future is there but it is bringing them up to the next level, if he is not prepared to commit then select someone who is.

BTW - I have supported the Swans for 40+ years so I have experienced the hard times and appreciate what Roos has delivered.

I also think that Roos has run his race, I have been very proud to be a swans supporter for the past five years. But his team is still playing 2005-6 football in a year where 2003 football would make more sense.

Yeah, I don't know, I'm not one to jump the gun, but perhaps the idea of Roos handing over the reigns is a good idea. I absolutely respect the man and everything he's done for the club, but he's said before that he doesn't think he'll be a career coach. Sometimes, he just doesn't look as though he's got his heart completely in it.

We'll go through a rebuilding stage now and there's tough times ahead, and if Roosy doesn't believe he'll be around after 2009, why not hand over to someone who will?

In fairness to Roos, he tried some different things this match. Unfortunately we have @@@@ players.

But why leave it so late to make changes when we have been struggling for the last two seasons?
