Roos's man bag of coaching tricks still doesnt contain a "plan b" - he & the rest of the coaching funsters are just as much to blame for the demise.I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

13 seasons (1996-2008), 11 finals appearances, 1 minor premiership, about 20 finals, about 10 finals victories, 4 preliminary finals, 3 grand finals, 1 premiership.
Sure looks like an era to me.
Especially when compared to the 50 seasons prior to that:

It's not such a long bow to draw, considering the regular finals appearances from 1996 and the lack of them in the 50 years prior.
Some of our veterans started their careers at about that time. The list in 1996 included Leo Barry, Michael O'Loughlin, Jared Crouch and possibly Ben Mathews and Brett Kirk (as a rookie or supp list player)."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment
