The last time we played a final in Adelaide, the Swans had four stars out injured. So poor were our prospects that the side was rated a 7-1 chance of winning, the most lopsided odds I can recall for any final. During the game we lost three more to injury during the match.
Despite these setbacks, we won.

Sydney 15.10 (100)
Port Adelaide 13.10 (88)
Clearly the best day I've ever had at the footy.

What we need to work out is how we :
1. avoid all of the six other top eight teams we have failed to beat this year as well.
2. Avoid playing at telstra dome.
3. Avoid playing at night.

Then we might just make the grand final .
I thought they were just trying to avoid playing finals!
Does it really matter? Either way to win a flag we're going to have to beat the Cats. If we finish 6th or 7th we'll likely face them in the prelim. Wouldn't we rather face them there where there's a chance they might be focusing on the Grand final. I haven't seen anything this year to suggest they're going to play any worse in this year's GF if they make it.
My point is would we prefer to play Hawthorn or Dogs in a prelim, then face Geelong in the GF, or play Geelong in the prelim than face Hawthorn or Dogs in the GF? Either way we're going to have to beat both teams.
for fear of sounding like Guru Roos - lets take it "one week at a time"!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

AGE IS ONLY IMPORTANT FOR TWO THINGS - WINE & CHEESE!
History shows, particularly at finals time, that a big win one week means struggling or losing the next. So we need to lose to, or just beat, Brissy.
Hopefully Brissy 'come to play' - we need it.
the best way to avoid the cats is to finish 8th and play collingwood.
Then we wouldnt have to worry about playing the cats at all in the finals if we play collingwood first up! It would be bye bye 08 unless a miracle can happen and we actually beat collingwood.
