Hall : If a hard call has to be made I'll cop it on the chin

Sounds like Barry's worried he's getting a visit from Uncle Chop Chop.
    Ed Considine's day out - Round 3, 16th April 1995.
11 Kicks, 13 Handballs, 8 Marks, 1 Goal, 1 Behind, 1 Tackle, 1 Hitout, 3 Brownlow votes (his only votes)

I don't think he has much to worry about. Where is the key forward to replace him?

Don't think he has anything to worry about. One of the very few in our side playing well at the moment.

His form this year has been good.

The reality is there willbe guys who will be gone at the end of the year who have done a hell of a lot for the club. It could mean a trade, it could mean delisting, it could mean retired, it could mean anything - it's just a fact the footy club has to deal with it. From a footy club point of view, I can understand it has to be done and I think all players are getting a gist of that now.
          Reading between the lines ...
          Davo's gone.
          Matthew's gone.
          Crouch gone.

I think Barry thinks he's going too.

It's not so much personal, it's business - and that's just the way it is. At 31 I am in that bracket and I understand that hard calls have got to be made. You've got to cop that on the chin.

In an ideal world I'm happy in Sydney, I love the place and the club, Iwant to stay. But if hard calls have got to be made it's got to be done.

If they do want to trade some older players, or delist us, there need to be clubs that want us. At my age there's probably not a great number of clubs that want me. I haven't had the best year and I have had a bit of off-field baggage. That would naturally weigh against me.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I'm still stunned no one has announced there retirement yet. Hope Roos has the balls to delist and chop players, that are to stubborn to leave there high salaries.

Nothing to suggest Crouch is going. He's contracted next year, has said he wants to play on and is still in the side.

The comments by Goodes today would suggest the older brigade still feel they're capable of competing with and beating the top teams.

They seem to be in denial. If the leadership group continues to have a say in list management I can't see much changing to be honest.

I would have thought that swans PR department would "assist" barry in putting his weekly articles together.

Maybe this is a veiled hint by the Swans football department to those who keep being discussed as possible retirees that they may want to consider their futures before someone else does it for them.

Its pretty poor that some players wont say goodbye with there heads held high, instead getting the big A.

maybe Roosy wants to have a combined fairwell party at the end of next season - think of the money saved only having to throw one big whopper of a bash instead of seperate parties. In these tough economic times you know it makes sense - So there would be Roosy, Benny, Leoy, Crouchy, Barry, Magicy and maybe Kirky'y - that way they all go together.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................
