    What do we prefer?

If the Saints win we finish 6th so we would play Kangaroos next week, which I like, if we lose we play the Saints, we isn't too bad either.

The bonus of finishing 6th is that if we WIN we would get the loser of the Hawks/Dogs in the 2nd week in Melbourne instead of getting Adelaide (or Geelong) which the winner of the 5 v 8 match get.

We would get Geelong in Prelim week which I think I prefer to getting Adelaide in 2nd week. What are everyones thoughts?

    Week 1
    Qualifying Finals:
    QF1: 1 (home ground) v 4
    QF2: 2 (home ground) v 3
    Elimination Finals:
    EF1: 5 (home ground) v 8
    EF2: 6 (home ground) v 7
    ---------
    Week 2
Semi Finals (2nd chances for loosing top 4 teams)
    SF1: loser of QF1 (home ground) v winner EF1
    SF2: loser of QF2 (home ground) v winner EF2
    ---------
    Week 3
    Preliminary Finals (the crossover)
    PF1: winner QF1 (home ground) v winner SF2
    PF2: winner QF2 (home ground) v winner SF1
    ---------
    Week 4
    Grand Final at the MCG
    winner PF1 v winner PF2

I'm just glad that we miss Collingwood.
We demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty.

Ain't that the truth! Much rather we get North Melbourne especially at home.

Its North or St Kilda. Probably North.

We should win either if its at Homebush.

If they'd counted Brett Kirks obvious goal against North earlier in the year, we'd be locked tight in 4th tonight.

I think we'd be half a chance against the dogs the way they are playing come 2nd week.

A finals series with 2 wins would go past most expectations here. We might even be in form by the prelim!

Im not sure why everyone is particularly eager to play North, we've had trouble scoring against them and they have the speedy midfield to cause ours problems

Yep, I'd prefer the Saints as well. Though North looking more likely.

                          - They just got thrashed by Port
                          - Most people dont think they can step up to finals intensity (ie they are already playing at maximum capacity)
                          - They've never played at homebush.

But god, imagine the whinging if they are forced to play a home final against us because of %. It will be great.

How much would St. Kilda need to win by to overtake Adelaide in 4th spot? If they did, it would set up an elimination final between Adelaide and Collingwood.

About 90 points, which is possible against a side like Essendon.
