There is no compulsory order to the AFL finals system these days (unlike the old system) but historically they do prefer us on a Saturday night in the first week no matter where we finish.

Second weeks have typically been Friday night. Our Port final in 2003 was a Sunday but I am not sure they would do that for a Sydney based game.

well we'll be watching from our lounge room can't afford the $750, it would take us to get there and I'm not that concerned as I'll save the money for the GF, LOL

The Kangaroos have a great record when they've been belted of coming back the next week and performing well. Also they're record against Top 8 sides is a lot better than ours so I'm very wary of the Roos.

This morning I heard that if we are playing north melbourne it will be Saturday night and if we are playing the saints it will be Sunday.

Sunday against the Saints makes sense because they don't play until late this afternoon. They're the only finals side that plays today and the AFL tries to be fair by giving all the teams 7 days rest if they can.

Well, we're no certainties to beat North or the Saints! But neither have a particularly good recent record in Sydney. I'd love to meet the Kangaroos in a final though, as three of their past four finals appearances have been 12+ goal floggings...but they are a tricky team to play on the rebound. Are more unpredictable (read: dangerous?) than St. Kilda.

If St. Kilda lose today, it would be the 4th time we faced them in finals since 1996, we have only played West Coast more in finals since '96 (5 times, with us leading 3-2).
