    Actually your right there.

For example,Last weeks game, Bird went for a long bomb for goal & missed.
Bazza was in the pocket all by himself arms open wide, not team oriented play if you ask me.

Hardly. Grundy wouldn't be able to play on Petrie or Hale. LRT may not be able to stop either of them either but he has more chance than Grundy. And regardless of what one thinks of LRT he's coming off what is one of his best games of the year last week.

Or maybe Princess Mary put in a word for him ?

Poor decision - Patrick plays without fear and whilst ROK has had a good year , his form hardly merits a recall.

This could cost us the game.
Is that a joke? O'Keefe has been nominated in the AA top 40 squad. He'll probably finish second to Kirky in the B&F. The games when he's been quiet this year are because he's had the hardest of hard tags on him. Even if he's not one of our best few on Saturday night, he'll take the full attention of a Roo run-with player, someone who might otherwise be free to attend to someone like McVeigh. He'll play 95% of the game and cover enormous ground.

Vez adds some attacking flair and it would be nice to see him play but he's not going to deliver any of those things. Not this week.

So Bird made a mistake. He's a 19yo learning the game. Let's not pretend that in his short career to date Vez hasn't also taken long opportunistic shots on goal when he had a better option on offer. He and Bird aren't either/ors. They are both players who hopefully will play 200+ games for the Swans in the future - and in very different roles.

Roosy says in todays Herald sun that there may be a couple of changes to the team Sat night. He says Bird has a sore groin.
I thought Bird was a certainty to be dropped and it sounds like he may not play.Personally I don't think he has progressed alot during the season(just my opinion.)Give me Moore,Vesz.Jack any day!

Yes agree he's young Bloke still learning, but 1 of the basic rules of playing Footy is Team Work.

Lets not forget he has played plenty of Footy before he got to AFL standards.

Surely a Footy Player of his stature would learn team work before playing in a higher level of Footy.

Bird has played all Senior games this year Barring 1 maybe & no NAB Rising Star award yet,& i was just stating a Fact that Ves has showed us more Polish Excitement & Skill in 3 games than Bird has all Season,as far as i'm concerned.

            I hope Bird turns into a Fantastic Player ,{After all his is playing in a Jumper worn by 2 all time Great Champion Blownlow Medalists}

Hopefully he will live Up to it in the Future.

Looks like he still might play, snippet from HeraldSun newspaper:

SYDNEY will be boosted by the return of premiership stars Adam Goodes and Ryan O'Keefe, who have overcome a groin problem and virus respectively.

Youngsters Patrick Veszpremi and Heath Grundy were omitted, but coach Paul Roos said last night there could be late changes."Craig Bird is a bit doubtful because his groin is a bit sore.

So there's likely to be a change or two possibly," Roos said.

Why have selectors when you have RWO?

Could you imagine the arguments over selections. The team would never get picked.

Eventually it might. But we'd need to draft around 15 new teenagers each year because after clamouring for "the youth" to be played, half of them would be discarded after a match or two for "not taking their chances at senior level".

Freeing up spots wouldn't be hard. There's no chance Bevan, McVeigh or LRT would have got beyond 30 games.

From the posts here, it seems some might say that's not a bad thing, in at least two cases...
