It's going to be very, very, very cold out there tonight.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Looks like I might be in the doghouse. The mate I'm going with works for MacBank and she usually has access to box tickets. Sure enough, she could have got a couple this week but I refused point blank to watch the game from there. So she decided she'd rather watch with me than from the comforts of the box. Still don't regret the decision on my behalf but I suspect she might be a bit pissed with me given the weather.

Liz's post reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons where Homer and family got given box tickets to the ice hockey, Lisa refused to watch it from there and instead went down to watch the game with the 'real fans'

I got to watch the game against the Saints last year from the corporate seating and while the catering is great, the lack of atmosphere and genuine interest or knowledge amongst most people sitting there was not appealing and I probably wouldnt do it again.

I agree I went to a corporate box a few years ago and they were astounded that I was actually watching the game. They thought I was joking when I told them not to talk to me whilst the game was on. At least the boss's son (who had never been to a game before) showed interest and asked sensible questions about the game - I don't mind that.

I've been once to a corporate box at the MCG, it was Norh v Carlton. I think it is better to use one for a game you don't give a toss about. Where you can enjoy it without concentrating on the game as much.

Bang on cruiser, sitting with your mates who go every week is what its all about. We won a box (for 8) for the game against Essendon earlier this year - free beer! That's the only way a box makes sense for a bloods game!

Just seconding the comment about it being cold there tonight. I just looked at the radar and noticed that the rain's starting to clear up a bit. Here's hoping the clearing up that the BOM had stated happens a bit earlier than originally forecasted.

                          I'll be there in spirit.

I'll be wearing the guernsey, waving the scarf and propping the flag up in front of the telly. I couldn't really justify paying all that money to get down there, and being a uni student meant its pretty impossible anyway but I'll be screaming so loud you'll hear me from Brissy anyway.
