Ed Lower - Best Mark contender..they still don't think it hit Ted's head
In fact all three were very average.. Goodes' mark is better than that lot

Would agree with that. I can't remember what the incidents were, but I clearly remember thinking that he was all over Laidley a couple of times, and was glad to see the emotion too.Comment

Likewise I haven't gone all the way through the thread, and not sure if anyone has commented on the open forward line. It was great to see Goodesy and Hall back in form, but for once they had a whole paddock to play in. Can't we do that every game??The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible newsComment

You really haven't clue. Bevan is a devastating tackler because he gives his opponent a couple of metres and closes on him at speed. You may not have noticed but defenders who play forwards like a glove get free kicked a lot under the new rule interpretations. The way Crouch wore Aker would lead to an avalanche of free kicks. We have moved on due to the balance being tipped towards forwards/offensive players. You simply can't tag like that anymore. Bevo has cjhanged his defensive technique. Bolton defends the same way. On occassions Bevo will corall a forward by not going into the tackle but hanging off and forcing him onto the boundary. To claim Bevo is too loose on his opponent is novel. In a kind of fictional way.Get the blinkers off mate.
Defensive play includes both watching the ball flight and staying close to the opponent. Bevan can only cope with one at a time - invariably the first - and obviously some like yourself only know how to look for one.
Have a good look at him and watch how far his opponent gets away from him when the ball approaches and in critical contested stoppages. Then watch a professional like Crouch in his prime.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment

There was no doubting Leo Barry's effort. But he has lost a yard in pace. Couple that with the vastly improved tackling and defensive intensity of forwards that has developed in the last two seasons and Leo is a liability running the ball out of defense. His lack of height and the rule changes also have worked against him. He must retire at the end of the season. We have a replacement (as a key defender and team leader) and his name is Ted Richards. So there's shocker and... blinder? Just two levels in your book obviously...
"Roosy felt some of us were going at half pace," Swans midfielder Jude Bolton said. "At halftime he said he could guarantee if we all got on board and played at 100 per cent like Leo Barry, that we'd walk away with a win.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

Laidley may have thought we were too old too slow and would be concentrating on tunneling etc. I suggest that He might start his own tunnel back to Melbourne. I wish I couldv'e gone to the game, it looked good on tv, Kirk and ROK looked standouts as did BBH. Mcveigh is growing, AS is Jack. Great attack on the ball, looked like 2005. Lets bite the dogs!!!!!!!
