Ch 10 Coverage of Swans Vs Roos

I thought the commentary was good.
Happy not to have to listen to Bruce or Dennis.
One time in particular that annoyed me tonight was when they showed a Swans player (Jude I think) walking round the boundary while play was going on.
And where the hell were the reverse angles for some of the shots on goal?
Also, I think all networks have been guilty of zooming in too close on the play and missing what is happening and then having to cut to a wide shot and confuse the viewers as to where the ball is.
This is 2008. This is a final.
The coverage was what I'd expect as a part of the VFL coverage.
And I haven't even ranted about that silly @@@@ing 5 minute warning.

Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.Comment

..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I watched channel 7 on Friday night and their commentary and knowledge of every player was fantastic. They had Leigh Matthews giving coaching thoughts and Bucks and Watson were great also.Even Bruce and Cometti were great.
As for Channel 10:
Was on call for work last night so I watched our boys.
Commentators were terrible.Didn't tell us anything we knew already and had limited knowledge on alot of players from both teams. They complained alot also.
We got no info on injuries and I found I was constantly ringing a friend to see what was going on on the bench.
Luckily I didn't get a call out so I got to watch it all.Last edited by smasher; 7 September 2008, 05:07 PM.Comment

I am so annoyed. The Ch10 telecast ended late so my IQ turned off and didn't record the whole game.
Thank god for FOX.Comment

Imagine basket ball with a 5 minute warning.
I can only imagine how that would change the atmosphere.
And that is AT the game where they have a countdown clock.
I was at the 2005 GF and I know what to expect.
However, I find that when I'm watching a game at home, I wanna know how much time is left

I watched it too, and I agree on the commentary (I don't really like Matthews' voice, but he's one smart cookie, and sticks to the point), but I've got to say, I found the camera work absolutely atrocious. So many times, I found myself willing the camera to zoom in or out, or switch to a different shot, to show either more of the game or more detail, but to no avail. 7 is never particularly good in that respect, but I thought it was particularly bad last Friday.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment
