Still, the experience is valuable for him and probably the first time he has witnessed the Kirky-come on in real life out on the field.
He's not going to kick 4 every week - well not yet anyway

But the energy he brought to the forward line was still an important factor, I thought. Looks like he needs to work on his set shots from 30-40m though. He missed one of those last week too. He may well be a player who nails the hard ones more consistently than the straightforward ones.

Not only did he mark strongly, but he played on quickly giving Hall one-on-one opportunities against Gibson, which he won the majority of. Whether it was a coaching directive or just smart play by ROK, it was a winning ploy.

I love that the thread turns into another Ves thread. I think if Magic comes back in, he and Bird will be named as Emergencies.

But to do with this thread title. It was awesome to see ROK return after being out last week. Didn't show any effects of the flu/potential meningitis (which they were speculating on the radio). Only thing he'll have is a sore head after being dumped on it mid-match. Ouch.

ROK plays on quickly almost every time he can. He seems to have stepped this up especially this season. It's one of the reasons why the stats say his effective kicking % is quite low, since some of the time it doesn't come off. But the "hurt factor" of the times it does work make it an effective tactic in my eyes.

            Vespa who?

Good experience for him - decision to 'drop' him was justified despite all the rantings on RWO.

BTW, I'm NOT saying Ablett should have been playing instead of him....

It's 12:40 Sun morning and there's AFL promos on ch 10 for last nights game. ...
Hoping to get more than 20k?

Awesome description! One passage of play in the 4th quarter typefied our approach to tonight's game, he took a strong contested mark on the wing, saw Hall one-out inside the forward 50 and played on without a moment's hesitation.

YES LIZ HE PLAYED WELL !! Though I'm still happy PV got to play , too.
I liked the way he was used in a more attacking rle last night.

Hey that "nailing the hard ones" is not about his fling with you-know-who , is it ? :-)

It happened about five times, to the extent we started to look a bit one dimensional, we'll need to find a few different avenues to goal next week. The Dogs will shut that down a lot more easily.
Hats off to ROK, on a night where not many good one grab it off the ground they were sticking like glue.

1 goal 3 behinds says he does get the opportunities so arguably he did play well and don't get me wrong, I've already touted him as my new favourite player! Just was thinking that his emergency status was worthy, considering perhaps the state of his legs and/or experience.

I'm glad he played!!! He brings a sense of confidence that can surely only rub off on some of our other less cocky players.

Read today in Weidler's column that ROK didn't have the flu - he had vial meningitis. Whoa, that is a seriously painful illness - my sister has just had it and the pain (raw nerve kind of pain in your head) she was in was out of this world. Marg was out of action for 2 weeks and in incredible pain for much of that time. If ROK had that, he has done even more brilliantly than simply to recover from the flu.
Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.
