Hammo great coaches do successfully challenge their players. i reckon Scott is on to something to describe our performance on Saturday night as a Rocky. The best rev up in the history of sport cinema is the The Duke when he gives it to the aging (or is it aged) Rocky Balboa:

Interesting that the team's current resurgence is the result of the coach's rev-up during the week and at half time, but when the team is struggling it is because the players can't perform sufficiently well. Seems rather one-sided.

Comes down to the question everyone wants answered: how do you switch players on? Is it up to them? The coach? The alignment of the planets? Nobody seems to know, but we can certainly tell the difference.
Roos was right, they were not going to do much damage the way they were travelling when he said that; but perhaps to say so made the difference.

According to Barry Hall, Roos doesn't play mind games and was just speaking the truth.

A few people have suggested that when Roosy came out a couple of weeks ago and said he thought it was the end of an era he was playing mind games to motivate the players.

I don't really think mind games are Roosy's thing.
