All over. We were a player short, thanks to the selection of Everitt.

I cannot believe they ever wanted him in the first place, but to have played him tonight was just ridiculous.

Hall kicks his 4th, definitely one of the better players.

Only one I dont mind is lethal. It also seems they first saw the swans play this year last week. No real knowledge of the team.

A fit Goodes would make a difference too. I reckon there will be a few retirements after tonight - Crouch, Barry, Everitt wish LRT but won't be

goodbye leo spida and crouchy surely

                      everitt is a liability.

Disapointing tonight but really the season was not too bad all things considered. We cost ourselves a bit tonight

I thought jack and veszpa were nervous, Bevan cant seem to play finals footy and has been a liability.

Goodes isnt fit and neither is malceski. Hall tried hard, okeefe was unfairy tagged all night.

                      urrrgh awful feeling right now

over for 6 mnths , no some necessary retirements , mathews, spida, barry, crouchie, davis to trade, and a delist or 2.
some good talent in the wings , and time for youngsters to be given a go

Time to remember an awesome, and sadly mostly unsuccessful, career for Spida Everitt.

While there are others who are some chance not to go on, he's the only one of that 22 certain not to be in a Swans' jumper in 2009.

We do need to make a few tough calls, and whether by trading or drafting put a huge priority in quality KPPs, but the road to success from here is evolutionary not revolutionary. We don't need to finish 14th or worse for 3 years in a row to have a shot at our next flag.

There is a fair bit of tactical work to be done, however.

As mentioned, at least we gave some kids a good go for a change. Vesza looked overawed by the occasion, but he'll be all the better for it. Dogs much better than us all year, deserved winners on the night.

We don't have to bottom out, but I wouldn't be surprised to see us miss finals next year. If you happen to finish bottom 4 with a genuinely weak squad, then you get a bit of help through the draft... BUT I think this group is better than that. Trim out some of the deadwood, and see what we've got left in the cupboard.

Now book half the buggers in for surgery!

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Can't fault the effort or the season in the end. Last week was a highlight but we cam crashing back to earth tonight.

I think we've seen the last games for Spida, Crouch and Leo. Crouch had some dash in the match but disposal was very ordinary.

Agree that Vesz and Jack were nervous but first finals at the MCG, what do you expect? They needed the experience and being out there will help in the long run.

Too many of our good players went missing tonight. Story of the season unfortunately.
