Sad, but a better way to go - on the way to a promising final - than having to endure your team bottoming out in its "AFL cycle".

Good on you old Swans fella - hope I go something like that.

Oh my god what a sad story. But I agree. Good on that Pies supporter for taking the time and at least giving the fellow some dignity at the end.
I might have a slight drinking problem. My husband asked me to toast some bread for him...so I raised my wine glass and said "Here's to bread!"

Terrible story. It's a real shame we couldn't get up for him, but I'm so glad he got to see the Swannies get up in 05.

Sorry but your post is distasteful.

Sad day for the supporter, but nice to see that a fellow human took the time and trouble to assist this person.

Reminds me of when Russell (the old bloke with the Swan) went out. All very sudden & all rather sad.

And Lobster, seriously give yourself an upper cut!

Hope I'm lucky enough to go out the same way... On my way to see the Swans in yet another finals appearance.... I will surely be going to meet my maker with a smile on my face.....

P.S... Great posts/thread by the guys over on the Collingwood board. If you're reading this guys/girls, two thumbs up to you all. A ray of sunshine on a miserable day. Cheers.

A good way to go, and thank you the Collingwood fan.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Apologies for the language earlier in the thread, I think emotions were a tad high.

Any official media reports on this?

Why would anyone want to die by themselves on a tram?

People die every day. Just because he was wearing a red and white scarf is not likely to make it newsworthy.

Why does being a passionate fan irk you so much?
