He was by himself as a stranger discovered he was dead. And I can think of better ways to die than that (of course there are worse but I was referring to the views that it would be a good way to go).Comment

I think they were referring to dying on the way to a game with the hope that they may get into a PF, much better than dying on the way home from the game with the disappointment of the performance.Bring it on!Comment

If we're talking about how we'd hope to go out I'd like it to be something more like after we win a GF after spending a week in a penthouse suite with a number of Playboy bunnies. Surely that is better than dying by yourself on a tram!

How you got from the first post to what you said in one step is beyond me. ROKL was stating a fact, in all reality it is not newsworthy in the bigger scheme of things.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

No media but a response from the family.
Hi nick, i wonder if you could pass my and the families personal thanks to Sharrod - the iceman for his efforts on the 48 tram. It was my Dad heading out to see his Swannies but did not make it. We very much appreciate his assistance and thank him. His blog about his last moments, falling asleep with a scarf wrapped about him, help us a lot. Thank you.Sydney Collingwood Supporters Club

Good God!!
Now I feel indebted to a Collingwood supporter!!
Nice one wobbler!! It's good to know that there are people out there who do see what's happening around them and care enough to positively react.
I hope you're around when it's my time!!
I'm gunna go and have a good cry.Last edited by AnnieH; 15 September 2008, 12:22 PM.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Respect to the Collingwood supporters for their decent and respectful comments on their forum.
Hopefully the guy who died got to see the Swans win against North the week before, a much better game to be his last than the game against the Dogs.Occupational hazards:

Was also moved by compassion and respect demonstrated by Collingwood supporters epitomised by pietillidie;
Sad indeed. Some of the most most devoted and loyal fans in the country those old Swans supporters, so I can just picture the type of bloke he was. I've always admired them. May the old fellow RIP.Comment
