Swans are interested in White, Kerr and Didak!

We could yet see Jeff White be the understudy to Jolly...how the tables have turned.

Kerr or Didak would be handy as well.

Who should we make a play for?

SYDNEY is believed to be interested in recruiting former Melbourne ruckman Jeff White and a quality midfielder in trade week in an attempt to close the gap between the Swans and the AFL's top teams.
The Swans are also expected to make a bid for West Coast midfield star Daniel Kerr and Collingwood bad boy Alan Didak.

I hope this is all bull@@@@, it probably is...

he conceded Sydney was still a long way behind flag favourite Geelong
...drafting Jeff White ain't going to change that. As for being filling a gap while Currie get's better, well, if we accept next year is not a premiership year, Currie may as well learn in the one's.

"We'd really love to get a quality midfielder from somewhere, but they are hard to come by,"
You draft them and develop them Paul. Where do you think Kerr and Didak came from?

The Swans have been successful at trading for key-position players, picking up defender Martin Mattner, forward Henry Playfair and ruck duo Everitt and Jolly in recent years.
Not sure that Playfair and Everitt belong on that list and no mention of Torture Chambers (or funnily enough, Ted Richards)!

But Roos has not ruled out the more radical and risky option of using next year as a rebuilding year, with the aim of blooding youth at the expense of making the finals. Rebuilding would pose a huge financial risk to the Swans in the competitive Sydney market, where they rely on membership and corporate support.
So does every other club for @@@@s sake. I am not suggesting bottoming out, moreso accelerated change - sure grab some proven talent if we can, but no more neverwill or hasbeen over 25s please - just setting back today's problems till tomorrow.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

At the right price, I'd take all three of them.

White will cost us nothing except a place on the list.
        Didak: high first round pick.
Kerr: Weagles have said they want 2 first rounders.
I would like us to take a look at Kosi. Maybe get him for a second round pick.

So where do we get three first rounders? We have to trade for those.

ROK: first round in the top 10. Who else is worth a first rounder? Goodes is worth 2 first rounders, but..

        Fossie: 3 rd round pick
        Schmidt: 3 rd round pick
        BBBH : second round pick
Nick D.: 3 rd round pick
        Eski: 2nd round pick

what else do we have to offer?

I suspect Nick Davis and a high draft pick might be offered to WC for Kerr, however, they'll demand more. Interesting trade period ahead.

Nick Davis, Ryan Brabazon and a first round pick.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

              Not quite enough I think..

Didak would be a first round pick, but Port could well be ineterested.

              White, no picks involved.

Kosi would add a lot to us, and maybe a second rounder would be enough, would give us that Key Position player we need..

What's the story with Kosi, why would the Saints let go of him?

Watching last nights game, seems like the Kosi/Riewoldt combo is vital to their success.

Anyone who thinks Nick Davis is worth anything has lost their "junk". Why in @@@@'s name would anyone take him on after spending the last 2 years in a straight jacket put on by the leadership group? The only thing you could possible get for him is a box of stale salada biscuits.

FFS.... If we get Didak and Kerr I am not supporting the Swans till they bloody retire.
They are out and out wankers.... WTF happened to our no dckheads policy?

I think it is time for us to bite the bullet and stop trying to grab ready made players....and start developing our own. Otherwise we are endlessly going to be in the finals yet so far away from a GF it is not funny.

Jeff White would be a ridiculous pick-up. His effectiveness as a ruckman has all but disappeared since the change in centre bounce rules and his age. Why would we even consider a 30+ player who's been delisted by Melbourne anyway.

Id be mightily pissed off if we picked up Jeff White. Didnt pickiing up the washed up effort that was Everitt teach Roos and co a valuable lesson? Dont pick up washed up ruckmen (Add the Chambers debacle to that as well). While I dont agree with the way didak or Kerr have handled themselves in public before, they are quality players and would add something to the team imo.

To me it just sounds like Kerr's management are doing their best to get a 5 year contract from the Eagles. It's convenient to leak Sydney as being interested because of our additional salary cap room and we're one of the few clubs to ever do anything at trade week.

Kerr has said he was willing to have a no-pay, no-play clause in his next contract. The Sunday Age understands that several clubs ? with Sydney chasing the hardest ? have put five-year contract offers, with no special clauses, to Kerr's management.

Kerr would never come to Sydney. He wants to live in Melbourne and play for one of the big 4.

Our only bargaining chip is Davis... which is a pretty stale chip.
