It is, and I do such a fab job and all.

    Goodesy polled 5th overall.

The umpires obviously have a totally different view to the majority of nay-sayers in this place.

Goodesy (even at half strength) is a freakin legend.

He rates very high in the eyes of the umps - even when he plays like @@@@.

Onya Goodesy. Try not to get suspended next year and you should be up for your third charlie.

(Even I didn't rate Goodesy as the highest ranking Swan - like most, I said the Hippy.)
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

How many, "non-midfelders" have won it? Not many.
Have to go back to the early 90s for a non-midfielder to have won, when it went to Ruckmen in 91/92 (Stynes/Wynd).

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I think you'll find the most recent non-midfielder who won was Gavin Wanganeen in 1993. Officially his position was Back Pocket, though he was more of a modern Running Back (think Kennelly).

        Then there was:
        Stynes - Ruck
        Wynd - Ruck
        Lockett - Full Forward (1987 - tied)
        Quinlan - CHF/CHB (1981 - tied)
        Blight - Full Forward (1978)

        ...

There are others going back further, and while the Midfielders (including wings) dominate, they are by no means alone.

Goodesy won in 2003 as a ruckman. Still a midfielder though I guess.

It just makes you wonder how many Brownlows Goodes would have won by now if he hadn't had female problems and went silly mid season, and hadn't done the groin. He had that bad patch last year that probably cost him also.

If he hadn't been reported and didn't do the groin he would have won by a country mile and we probably would have finished fourth.

He could conceivably have had 4 Brownlows and been hailed the greatest of all time.

i wonder if the umps are going to mark goodes harder now.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know
