I say yes. Or someone like him. Unless the club takes the view that LRT will, from this point on, be a career ruckman and pushes him solely in that direction. Let's face it, not likely.
Even if Currie is ready to play firsts in round 1, 2009 (which is a massive 'if'), no credible team should have just 2 specialist ruckmen on their list. It just leaves you wide open for disaster in the case of injury. The idea that Jake Orreal will be in a position to play ruck in the AFL before about 2011, is science fiction, and Jesse White seems to be heading away from the ruck direction. Without a mature backup/2nd ruck, we're one injury to Darren Jolly away from getting smashed in the ruck week-in, week-out. Which wouldn't make the clearances look too good, either.
Having already ruled out Jeff White, why wouldn't we take someone like Street for a couple of years (he's 28), ready to plug'n'play, at no trading cost? He's alright; certainly better than Torture, who we paid actual trading value for.
