That must have taken a bit of time to work out.

Firstly let me say that I like Okeefe and saw a lot of potential in him before others did but from a pure business point of view I believe four years is too long for a player who relies on their fitness and running ability to keep them at the top.

As soon as time starts to catch up with him and it invariably will in a year or two, then unless he has adapted his game to play a more traditional forwards role , I think he will not be as valuable in his final year or so.

O Keefe has proven that football is all about business. In that regard if I were at the swans I would look to trade him next year for one of GCs lower draft picks. They will need an experienced half forward.

Interesting. Didn't the Hawks fly up to see O'Keefe here in Sydney?

With his brilliant overhead marking ability, there will always be a spot for him up forward.

Needs to work on his goalkicking, but as a permanent forward taking shots from marks where permanent forwards take them, as opposed to his usual shot from 45-50m after he's just sprinted 100m up the ground and doubled back leaving him half knackered, he may well improve that aspect of his game.

I think I'm definitely missing something here .....how come someone who wants to live in Melbourne, ends up agreeing to live even longer in Sydney?

If it turns out that his runnig abilty deminishes(touch wood it doesnt) he is a great mark any way. Then one would assume that the Swans would just play him out of the goal square.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

Why do I feel like we've won second prize in the beauty contest?

Ask Duck Butt or his manager. He rolled the first dice.

Maybe because you have a huge chip on your shoulder? get over it, he re-signed, he'll be playing in the R&W next year, we all should be supporting him.

Well he asked to be traded if possible to Carlton as that was his preferance, but as that wasnt able to be achieved he is happy to stay here.

Welcome home ROK - you've made the right call (eventually).
Hopefully by this time next year you'll have another premiership medal and a Bobby hanging round your neck.

Well if he's so "happy" here, why ask to be traded in the first place?

                            Second prize??

I'm glad the swans still have a showpony in the team. Bye bye Davo, hello Duck Butt.

I like the line that he is "committed to playing out the rest of his career with the Swans". He demanded to be traded, at least toyed with the idea of walking out despite a contract being on the table, and has finally re-signed only when it looks unlikely that he can go to the club of his choice.

Either he's had one hell of a change of heart, or it's going to be a bitter four years for him.

Yep, I know how ya feeling about this. However, I'm glad its over and we're not gonna lose him to the draft.
