Wow, it looks like we know the B&F winner sooner than I thought!
I am delighted for McVeigh, he has had a stunning season and is living proof of what a little confidence can do to your game, because it's really made a difference to the way he's played this year. Well done!! A richly deserved accolade.
- Thought Teddy was a bit stiff to miss out on the top 10.
- Surprised Moore finished 10th.
- Would be interesting to see where Micky O was at the time he was injured.
- Kirk top 2 finish 6 years in a row, surely that's as good a record in the AFL over the same time period.
The Bevanator came in at 6. One spot behind moneybags. Hats off all round. The Paul Bevan Appreciation Society will receive apologies and mea culpas on an alphabetical basis. No shuffling or whining. Dignity please gentleman (and others).
Macca had the look of a stunned mullet during the presentation and didn't improve afterwards. He was in shock.
Sat near ROK's table and although some players made contact it was significant that there were few of "us" who did. Not exactly frosty but not exactly warm either, and he was made a life member.
They gave Benny and Spida a terrific send off with great acknowledgement.
BBBarry looked happy and relaxed without a partner, diamond earring and shirt hanging out all round at odds with each other. Roosy said Tadgh was still is hospital having a body reconstruction. He also gave praise to Bev and I think Marty. The kids are a great bunch, and Keiran's happy face lights up megawatt. I swear Jake has even grown taller. Monty became creative with his tie, Davo looked just fine. Cheese will never lack self confidence. Henry is still on crutches. Beards are "in" and Lewie has grown a beauty, looks like a viking, Marty's doesn't look tooooo bad. Kirky's family is extending in December and his isn't the only one.
The WAGS mostly looked young, healthy, with great hair and frocks. There were some eye watering ones from "others", and I won't expand on what consits of style, good taste and fit, thats in the eye of the beholder, but.... Anyway, very tall Swifts in evidence, including the evergreen Liz Ellis. Kirsten from Biggest Loser has continued on. She looks fantastic and happy.
Food was very good, service efficient, the flower arrangements stunning (lots of red roses at one level studded with tall white freesias of a quality I have never seen before), white wine was room temperature, but the red was great. The noise factor took off with the band which mercifully didn't go on for ever, people wanted to talk. I am not sure if indoor search lights will take off as a 'must have'.
It was a good happy night.
