At last we have a Swans player who will lift when we play the Pies.

A little fluff piece in The Age.

Tears as Shaw flies in the face of tradition

          Interesting quote from Roos.
"We will give him a tremendous opportunity through the pre-season games to perform and, at some point, he's just got to stand on his own two feet and get a game based on form and I'm confident he will do that."
I wonder if this is a new selection policy? Has the coach finally listened to RWO?

He's certainly not one of the prettier boys, eh.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

The last time i saw a head like that it had a muzzle on and was nosing past the winning post at the Dapto dogs. Also not a good idea for any newcomer to be photographed standing near the strapping tyro the Bevanator. Not off to a good start.

Feel the man-love!! Connolly, if you got the chance to hug Bevo, how many seconds do you reckon the hug would last for?

Roos was the first person to greet Shaw on Sydney turf, waiting for him at the airport.

"That was a bit of a surprise, I thought one of the boys or a taxi might take me to the club, but 'Roosy' picked me up," Shaw said.

"It was grouse. He showed me around Sydney for a couple of hours. It was fantastic."
Nothing like a captive audience, eh Roosey?
Hope you took the opportunity to have a "quiet chat".

Do you reckon Roosey had the doors locked?

"Mum hasn't stopped crying since she got the news, but the rest of the family are really happy for me in terms of my footy," Shaw said.
Now there's something different ... a collingwood player who doesn't cry for his mummy!! It's noice though that mummy's doing all the crying for him.

Now for important matters......does he have a nickname yet?

If not I suggest "Bubbles" - as in (mis-pronounced) "Rhyce Bubbles"

How about Pie Floater? Nice Aussie nickname, wouldn't surprise me if he's hoed into a few of those on a Saturday night after an away game against the Crows or Power either. Pity he's not South Australian.

But what clinches it for me is that in a lot of ways, he was a "floater" for the Pies: a frustrating piece of @@@@ that they just couldn't quite flush away!
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!
