Now that I am back in Australia I've got through my mail and am very happy with the changes.
Was handing over $330 last year for all games at the new 'Red Zone'. Now gonna pick up a Lakeside Red Zone for $220 at a saving at over $100.
If I can be bothered to drag myself out to Homebush the 3 Match Pass is only around $40, and as we have 4th games there I can miss the worst sporting event of the year; Swans vs Pies. But, of course, if we're doing well I can cough up the $30 for a single seat.
Great work by the club. I'm saving on last year and I have added flexibility.and have blown $1200 in revenue from our two family groups. Interesting that they managed to come up with such diverse outcomes across such a small sample - but they did have a genius in their midst working studiously to achieve it.
It also puts this year's financial loss into context - if the club manages to avoid doubling it in 2009 it will be a minor miracle.
And I'm tipping you'll be wishing they'd left well enough alone when the first lock out of the red zone happens. Folks like us who are letting their concourse seats go are doing one of two things - ditching alltogether, or migrating into the red zone. The slightly "in your eye" tone of your post might come full circle when the red zone becomes the blood boiling zone.
You'll probably still get in, if you set your watch by the sparrows and make sure you're there when the gates open! But you've saved a hundred bucks, so it's all good!

True, but if I do go to all home games it will cost me the same as last year and more than a full all game red zone membership. The $ is not important. It's the flexibility. Got a lot of living to do.-Comment

it's all just a mystery to me ....

You insinuating that they are not going to let paid up members into the/a game as it's 'full'?? Wut?
Not the after game me old hearty - the game itself! The red zone will probably be oversold (common practice amongst hotels, airlines, restaurants etc - ie, all those other entities with a supposedly profit driven genius calling the shots).
You might not get into the Zone at all - but if you do, you'll see row upon row of empty seats around the rest of the ground. Lucky the SCG is on stable ground, or it just might tip over some time next season!

If "the dollars are not important", why'd you mention them with glee earlier? Following on, what is more flexible than having every game covered (by unimportant dollars) under the old system? I'm assuming no one had a gun to your head forcing you to attend every week (though with a lot of living to do, maybe they did to get you to drag yourself along to a game)!Last edited by SwansFan1972; 18 December 2008, 03:22 PM.Comment

we bit the bullet...
Signed up with four memberships and tossed in 7 memberships in the O'Reilly.....plenty of seats for eveybody....after all, we need to make up the $500k dropped on Club Drag oops Swans by the hierarchy. So join up now and help the club to continue to be ALSO RANS in 2009.Comment

Rising memberships....
Richmond reported that they got 2000 NEW members in addition to those renewing....Cuz mania. Pity we can't say the same.Comment

How many have signed....
I notice that the club hasn't come out bragging about membership figures unlike the Hawks and Tigers...just part of their culture....give us another glossy pamphlet extolling the virtues of our illustrious leaders.....Comment
