finally, a post that made me smile.......I just think that management and their corporate mates (marketing people) are not only out of touch but probably couldn't care less. No vote or contribution wanted. And the way they are now structuring the draw( last year we had 7 night games) is used to deny kids a kick after the game. NO VOTE - NO KICK - JUST GIVE US YOUR MONEY.Comment

$320 last year which was already for 11 games rather than 12 the previous year.
Minimum $380 this year. My seats at the stadium are somehow platinum so I could be hit for $460. Both of my seats are in the concourse.
Thats complete bollocks. He ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

Industrial Fan - i called the swans re this and they said it is based on your seating position at the SCG.
I also called them to express my anger at the prices and they basically said that the pricing category is now based on seating position and not your level of membership. so like me who sits in bay 29 and just had a standard reserved seat membership and have sat in the same seat originally allocated by the swans as i was moved from the hill 7 yrs ago. so unless you dont want to move areas to a "cheaper" area then you either pay the price rise or cancel - at the moment my family and i are looking at cancelling and im sure im not the only one"I feel it in my fingers i feel it in my toes... Sydney Swans are all around me and there everywhere i go. A premiership is there beside me and thats all i know"
Only $1 for a cornetto that is DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!!!!!Comment

I sit in the Bay 29 concourse as well which is gold and my seat at ANZ is Platinum. Since it is based on my seating position at the SCG, i will be paying for a gold membership? Or will they force their hand and move me to a gold section at ANZ (which would really piss me off).Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.

I hope the club has gotten their maths right when working out the new pricing structure, otherwise there could be a few pissed off people...
BTW Jeffers I'm in the same boat as you (Gold seats @ SCG, Platinum at ANZ). That's good news if it's based on your seats at the SCG as Jude4eva said, but we'll wait until the renewal stuffs arrive in the mail to see what the deal is.Comment

2009 membership drive for Sydney members
Swans Chief Executive Myles Baron-Hay takes Sydney members through some of the changes to the Membership Guide for the season ahead...
So the way to get more members is to put up the prices????.
We can't afford the new prices.
My money is on a reduced membershipComment

The principle of grading the seats is OK, it just seems that in the execution greeed got in the way of common sense. I don't know of too many stadia that classify seats with little to no elevation as gold or platinum. The club seems to be saying that an on the fence seat outside the 50 arc is worth just as much as a seat in the Bradman or Trumper. To top it off some people have been hit by a double whammy in that full club membership has been made compulsary for all memberships excepting bronze. I'm happy, my SCG Reserve membership has gone down, but I reckopn all those on the concourses who have been shafted have every right to be angry.
For those thinking about a move, the upper deck of the Messenger may be small and uncovered, but gives a terrific view. And it's only graded silver!Pay peanuts get monkeysComment

It breaks down a little like this in terms of membership prices:
Members Reserve, Gold stand, Silver, Bronze - Happy
Platinum, Gold concourse, Redback, Sydneysider - Unhappy
Season ticket - VERY unhappy
Those who are unhappy will simply have to suck it up, or move elsewhere. I find it curious that they are suddenly not offering a "season ticket only" membership. It is probably a case of them deciding to charge extra for extra membership privileges across the board that in theory don't cost them anything (preference to finals tickets)
I like my seats so I think I will stay - however the $65 hit per person is very annoying!
By the way... The messenger might be good value now, but I reckon it will be the next to be knocked down, along with the Noble/Bradman
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I'm not unhappy. Not entirely sure what I paid last year but don't think it was that different to this year. And if it has gone up, it is more due to the plantinum grading of my seat rather than any other aspects of the Redbacks package.Comment

I don't know how they're going to allocate the seats, but whoever plumps for platinum membership in the Trumper Stand had better hope they don't get a seat in Bay 310 - the restricted viewing area next to the O'Reilly Stand. It's probably as bad as the restricted viewing area in Bay 10 of the Brewongle Stand.Last edited by Cheer Squad; 4 November 2008, 08:03 PM.Comment

My membership has gone up $106, plus our seats have now been changed to alcohol free, so we'll def have to move. Not a happy girl! Think I'll be giving up my premiership club status next year.
I'm paying $165 more than I was paying in 06. Thats crazy!Comment
