Was much, MUCH improved. Actually backed himself, for a change. Dramatically increased his influence on games as a result. 7

Great year, disposal was most improved, and even if the boys were losing or having a bad day u knew that Bevo would leave nothing behind, always willing to have a go and put his body between the defender and the ball.

Bevan "the one day specialist" did some fine work in the past at the SCG - lets hope it continues for this nugget o' gold?

A big-hearted and at times courageous trier.

Unfortunately lacks any class or brain speed and has cost us dearly in vital games like Collingwood (ANZ) and Western Bulldogs (MCG final) where he was towelled up and embarrassed by smart footballers like Murphy and Thomas.
Makes a massive difference in season-defining games when you are slaughtered in a defensive match-up. The Spevo cost us dearly in 08.

"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

Against the Bulldogs he was like all of our defenders trying to stem the tide that was pouring downfield from a beaten midfield. The Bulldog midfield had more loose men running around getting touches than at the Gay Mardi Gras. Your selective memory has forgotten that the Bevonator saved the game with a brilliant last gasp screamer against Freo that kept us in the hunt for the finals. The only bloke who cost us dearly in 08 was Duck Ass.

Authorative quarterback, mettlesome defender, unflinching in the pack and adaminitine in the tackle. Took screamers up front (v Port Adelaide) and at the back ( v Fremantle), tackled mercilessly (introduced the dual tackle into the game) and bowelless against hapless opponents. Simply superbevo - a nine.
A breathtakingly poetic, informative & slightly one eyed critique(which was to be expected) - god love ya Connolly you didnt let us down - I had waited an eternity to read your inner most thoughts on the love child. Bevo did improve, I hope that he can get better - but we wait and see what 2009 brings - 7/10
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

No i didn't forget his career highlight. That good mark was taken right in front of me. He backed back into unknown territory, like all AFL footballers have to do, so this proved that he is courageous as i have described him.

There is a difference between smart and courageous though - a very big difference.

8 from me. Effort and effectiveness. Being a the right place at the right time. No fear. Backing into packs. I am very proud of him.

Got no doubt the kid can improve. For me i've left it all on the keyboard. Run out of superlatives. The only way is down. Have a good crissie. Next year will be a toughie.

4/10 for the season plus an extra point for the Freo mark.
