That game is the first time Huddo commentated with the sentence. "I see it but I don't believe it!!" and this was only in the second quarter not the last 5 seconds like he repeated against Geelong in 2005.

    Loved it both times.

I think he said it as Jude kicked a terrific goal right on the line, to stretch the lead to the extent that it was becoming a serious problem for Port.

OK, it looks like we all agree. Other than the GF (its in its own stratosphere) the Greatest Game in the last Eight Years is the 2003 QF against Port. For all of the above reasons, and that fact that they were insinc and noone was better than the Swans that day. Its just one of those games. One of those games where a sneaky smirk amongst those in the know says it all.

Have I mentioned its possible to do a Mexican Wave, a Sheedy coat swing and a soccer jumper over head tour of the kitchen with only four people and a dog in residence?

And thanks for the feedback re Cressa's spray. I only had access to the tv coverage back into Sydney.

What was so great about this game? Sure we flogged them but it wasn't much of a contest.

I'd rate the final against North much higher. That 2nd half was non stop poetry.

Funny how everyone seems to have remembered that QF against PA but conveniently forgets the Nick Davis contribution to that win......

              I'm back from hols.

Agree with all those above who also were lucky enough to be at AAMI in 2003.

Did anybody else have that awful feeling that even though we were caning them all over the park, we still weren't safe?

When Port kicked the last goal or 2 of the third quarter the crowd lifted 1000%. I can barely remember a noise like it at 3/4 time as the Port fans just chanted 'Pow-er' for the whole break. From memory we steadied early on in the last, Hall kicked a goal and it was pretty much a coast home.

As mentioned, Kirky just jumping back up after Byron hit him with a 'Pickett' special was inspirational. There was never going to be a comeback after that.

My fondest memory of that game however was the guy sitting next to me. He was a Crow fan but the missus was a Port fan. He secretly told me when she went to the ladies pre-game that he hoped like hell that we would win, although we both agreed it was highly improbable.

As we kicked goal after goal in the 2nd quarter he kept winking at me and digging me in the ribs as he turned to his wife offering his deepest condolences. He was barely able to keep a straight face.

I certainly did. We were 7 goals in front at half-time and even at that stage I thought we were only a 'chance'.

When Chad Cornes took that big grab on 3 qtr time and kicked the goal, I thought we'd probably get beaten.

I didn't think we were safe until Davo took that one handed grab and then goaled. Gee he played some big finals for us.
