This thread was tooooooo early. At the rate we are going at the monent with retirements and injuries it looks likeOrreal and Pyke are certain starters. I could play a handy forward pocket."The Dog days are over, The Dog days are gone" Florence and the MachineComment

Whip It for full back then?
If not the ruck what about some run out from full back, given this thread has banished leapin' to one day wonder obscurity?Comment

automatic
I would like to see the Grand Final hangover finally put to rest and the team rejuvenated. The best way to achieve this is to have NO AUTOMATIC selections. Pick the whole team on merit again like in the pre-GF days when Kirkey stayed on only because he was good and Buchanan had to work his arse off to keep his spot.He is a champion when he does that! A team picked on form is also a happy team amongst the players because they are not carrying anyone. Player morale suffers when some players can not be dropped and those striving to make the team get dissallusioned. No passengers ,no automatic selections =success!Comment

Ebeneezer Goodes then?
A great philosopher once wrote
"Naughty naughty very naughty"
There's a guy in the place
He's got a bittersweet face
And he goes by the name of Ebeneezer Goodes
His friends call him Eezer and he is the main geezer
And he'll vibe about the place
Like no other man could
He's refined, sublime, he makes you feel fine
Though very much maligned and misunderstood
But if you know Eezer he's a real crowd pleaser
He's ever so good, he's Ebeneezer Goodes
You can see that he's mysterious,
Mischievious and devious
As he circulates amongst the people in the place
But once you know he's fun
And something of a genius
He gives a grin that grows around
From face to face to face
Backwards and then forwards,
Forwards and then backwards
Eezer is the geezer who loves to muscle inComment

Truly automatic selections (assuming fitness) for me would be...
Hall
O'Keefe
Kirk
McVeigh
C Bolton
J Bolton
Mattner
Richards
Jolly
Goodes
Anyone else would have to prove themselves over their competitors for their spot, IMHO. There's plenty of obvious ones who will get a spot, but I don't think that they will get it "automatically".Comment
