What did everyone think about the Female commentator for yesterdays game. Nothing against her but it didnt sound too good to me. I think the fact that she sounds alot like CARO doesnt help her
The edge is not the limit, It's just the starting point...
CHANNEL Ten has described Kelli Underwood's debut as a football commentator a success, but would give no guarantee that Australian football's first female caller would return to the box any time soon.
The network's head of sport, David Barham, said that while he was happy with Underwood's performance during the commentary of Geelong's victory over Adelaide on Saturday, he had no plans to have her calling any more NAB Cup games.
Nor did he have any firm plans to have her on board during the season proper.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
A really good first up effort which she will naturally improve on.
A great development for the AFL.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

An excellent first up effort. She did sound a bit like a radio commentator, but just the fact that she'd done her homework and knew all the players by sight put her well ahead of most of the male commentators (particularly the former players) on TV. And she didn't seem to feel compelled to fill the gaps with boring bulldust like "THE OX!!" or "Lynchy". And she didn't indulge in childish umpire-bashing. And she didn't pretend to know the rules. In fact, the more I think about it, the better she sounds!
Hard to believe that Channel Ten has finally come up with a good idea.
Tended to give full commentary like radio - rather than quickly summarising the action.
I thought the same of the gentleman calling the Swans game for Fox on Sunday, I believe it was his first time also.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time
No, call me anti-feminist, but I think the commentary sounds better coming from a bloke.

Did you hear her call of the game?

That's what I expect from a commentator, not meaingless bs stats that McAvaney craps on with, or trying to be funny like Commetti. All I want from a comentator, either radio or tv, is to tell me what is happening on the field.
Yes. I prefer the drivel of the aforementioned Messrs McAveney & Commetti. No one does it like them two!!
I suppose it's good for the game, but Ch10 aren't "really" going to go ahead with a female commentator once the season proper starts.
She'll be sent down to the boundary with whats her name maltmouth.
