How absolutely laughable. Worse still to have a performance like this against St Kilda, a side I just can't stand.

        Unbearable, depressing, uninspiring.

Yep, it's gonna be a long season...

Some points (three quarter time on delayed telecast)

          1. If Ed Barlow never plays another game for the Swans, then we have taken a step forward. This guy is just soft soft soft. Fairly @@@@s himself when he gets the ball. Mummy's boy who belongs in a sandpit not on a footy oval. When he petulantly kicked the ball over the boundary, I nearly fell over.

          2. Umpires were really on to holding decisions against us. Does that indicate we have poor habits or are the umpires up to their old tricks.

          3. Buchanan's day's must be numbered? He is the turnover king. Thosein the 'he's creative' crowd, just seriously, sit down, watch a replay, focus on him. I have been saying for some time he causes us more damage than the other team. He was good for a while, but has just completely lost it.

          4. Our 'new game style' of fast running and handball worked for the first 20 minutes and then they reverted to the old style of kick and pray. Was horrible to watch..

          5. Our forward line is just awful. Less said about it the better.

          6. Jack was very poor tonight. Another few games like this and back to the magoos.

          7. Why was Crouch even picked? In general, our older guys were poor.

          Some positives...

          1. Bird, Grundy and LRT were guys I thought played well. Richards got a lot of the ball early but didn't use it effectively.

          2. Wake-up call.

Well, even I had not envisaged such a dreadful performance...2 rushed behinds in a half of football...this is the swans of old...same result, different season...what a load of @@@@@...and again, why oh why did we give away half decent players (well sort of) and only recruit CPs...thank goodness I wont be sitting through this at the scg this year!
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Just like clockwork the Swans make a mini comeback to get that "respectable loss" scoreline.

                  Sigh.

Almost to script, wasn't it. Good start, @@@@house middle, and then we turn it up when the game is lost.

Grundy has kicked his 2nd goal, the deficit is now 15 points and now it's game over.

                      St. Kilda 12.8 80
                      Sydney 9.11 65

Despite kicking 4 goals in the final quarter and a really good start to the game, the Swans were ordinary throughout the game.

When was the last time we had no multiple goal scorers?

                        EDIT: Thanks Heath.

Ordinary is an understatement.. Utterly pathetic would be more accurate.

It must've been a while because Grundy kicked 2 goals.

Our problems get boiled down to two things

                              1) If the pressure is the least bit good we SIMPLY CANNOT find a man in space. This is the recurring theme. It's why we can never beat Adelaide or Collingwood even when we are ahead of them on the ladder..

                              2) on the other hand...as soon as the opposition gets the ball they can find a man with ease. The worse the scoreboard gets, the worse we get because as soon as we concede a goal we zone BACK FURTHER and make the situation worse (see Gilbert's goal which turned the game). We let them run uncontested to our fifty. It's just nuts. We CANNOT put pressure on a decent team in our forward half.

WORSE...we don't flood back and pick up a man...we flood back and leave men free in the fifty anyway! (Several times tonight and also lots against Port and Melbourne

Very poor from the seasoned (over the hill players). Was Kirk playing? Only saw Goodes a couple of times, Bazza laid a great tackle but must have had frostbite down there tonight. Pebbles, he who didnt want to be in Sydney, might just as well have left... Officially embarrassing performance!
