If he played for a Victorian side he'd be hailed as a God.

I've always wondered why at games goodesy gets booed by the opposition supporters, maybe because they think he has had a good record at avoiding suspension, or it could be the fact that he is a premiership player and 2 time brownlow medalist and ...jealousy is a curse!Comment

That was because a couple of their scum were at himn all night, and at one stage he retaliated. But he also received 2 free kicks in thirty seconds in the last qrtr for high and cheap shots, right in front of us. Then they felt it was umpire favourtism.....funny given the free kick count.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

The Whip it Goodes gets feedback as he is the only dual Brownlow medalist in the AFL at the moment, and is likely to win a third this year - just for having a go....Comment

That and the fact that some of those incidents were dog acts.Comment

Listen people, I am not having a go at people on this forum with what I am about to write(so dont have snipe at me after I post this), but really, you have to get used to the fact that EVERY club has supporters that are just morons who will bag any opposition players. Even us. I had a guy sitting a few rows behind me who kept baggin Hall and saying things like..."produce your own champion Sydney" and things like that. I would have said something back, as I normally do, but we were 37 points down and I was feeling pretty miserable, but thats half the fun of going to the games really. Listening to these sorts of comments. The funniest I have ever heard was in those glory days of the early 90's when we were losing every week, it was a game against the bombers at the G, we had an Essendon reject named Mchael Werner playing for us, a bombers supporter sitting behind me yelled out after Werner gained possession..."whats this? who's got the ball? oh #$%@ me, its game turner Werner." that had me in stitches.Comment

Thats a bit strong . He didnt exactly blindly poleaxe those guys , kick them, spit in their faces, squirrely grip or any such things that I would describe as dog acts.
For him to even get off the incidents were considered pretty soft by the judiciary and I think on one of them he only got off because of his good previous record didnt he.
Goodes has only received coverage because he plays for a non melbourne team and he has two brownlows.
I wouldnt worry about players getting hassled. Personally I would find that motivating and a little funny especially when you have some clown hanging over the fence saying these things (eg the Michael Oloughlin in your face incident a few years ago against West coast). Dont forget the players probably hear just a whirlwind of noise on the field not each personal comment.Comment

I like to think that Rocca can hear me when I call him mummy's boy and say that he would have a premmie medal had he stuck with us.
(I've got a loooonnnnnngggggg memory!!).
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

I will also add to this... dont know how many people here were listening to the game on triple MMM whilst at the game, I was and what I did find upsetting was comments they made about Goodes. Someone would say half way through the second quarter that Goodes had 6 possessions up until then, and that moron Hamish Macintosh would say something like..."that guarantees him 3 votes in the brownlow" and have a chuckle. Honestly, they must have made at least 5 comments about Goodes and the him winning the brownlow based on his performance in Saturday night's game. I can except such stupidity from opposition supporters, but not radio/tv commentators.Comment
