Cheese is much harder than Margarine...

Even "Butter" is not soft enough to describe his embarrassing attempts to win the contested ball...

So Barlow has a new nickname - "Margarine" or "Marge" for short.

Does anyone think Marge (the soft girl) too harsh?

    Please s p r e a d the nickname if you agree with it.

Yep, i'm with ya there. At least ball up Benny Mathews was always committed to the contest despite his skill flaws.

I also sense that Cheese is an athlete turned into a footballer. He was drafted due to his size, speed and athleticism. Not football skill or hardness.

You can see in certain situations he has NFI what to do whether it be putting his head over the ball or knowing when to kick a banana instead of a drop punt.

Very similar to Aaron Henneman from Essendon a few years back. He started football in year 11 and was drafted purely because he was big and could run. No one gave a toss whether he could kick, handpass or put his head over the ball (they arrogantly assumed they could teach him that).

          You can't teach instinct.

You can't teach height. I think this "soft" stuff is one person's opinion that somehow has morphed into pseudo fact. I was at the game on Saturday night and I didn't notice him avoid any contests.

You're right. Soft is avoiding contests, that's not what he does. He just seems to have no clue when it comes to disposing of the footy. However there are some here who think that unless you have worn the "Jude Bolton party hat" during a game, you are soft.

FWIW, I don't think he's soft, but he didn't look like he belonged out there on saturday night.

They were over before he got to them.

I thought we'd settled on Brie.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

                      What about Olive?

Really, the guy fairly cacked his pants when he got near it. Just doesn't like the physical stuff. As someone intimated, maybe needs a bit of the Shane Strempel method. Where's Wallsy when you need him?

Seriously, my instinct is that he ain't going to make it, which is a shame.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

                        Speed?? ?
Everytime he ran past me he was seriously behind his opponent, and making NO ground. He even looked laboured, like he was reaaly trying his best..
                        Not good enough IMO!

Butter is hard when frozen, Barlow is still soft when he freezes on the field. Whatever cheese crumbles the easiest is an appropriate nickname.

Talk to clubs who have their kids go off to TAC clubs. The coaches will tell you that the kids today aren't necessarily the best players, if they don't meet height requirements they are overlooked. Many coaches get perplexed over how some of the kids are picked.
