what type of midfieder is he?..inside, outside???

hopefully another outside one to work with Bird....

who knows young kid with nothing to lose might just get under the radar of the some of the hawk boys, but no doubt not for too long.

our defence will ahve it work cut out for it...

we know who will take buddy and roughy...but who will take their small quick forwards, do we have anyone with that leg speed!!!

I'd expect Crouch and probably Bevan to get that job. Fingers crossed ...
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Not after last week, both of them were abysmal in defence.

Bevan looks more likely up forward. We can't afford for him to allow three easy goals to be kicked after he stuffs up like happened last week.

Crouch just looks to old and slow he looks more likely in Canberra.

Great to see Meredith in the team, good luck to him, I have heard plenty of good things about him, will be interesting to see how he goes.

Sorry, I read it the other way.

What you intended and I agreed with makes much more sense.

I can understan barlow being dropped, but really have to disagree with Buchanon being dropped.

It can be harder in print than in person. (Lawyers beware!)

Because Buchanan is a greedy hack who peaked in 05 and should have been traded on 06 when he still had worth.
His attempt on goal at the start of last week showed he hasn't changed. He complimented this with a mark on the 50 later in the game, straight away motioned that he was going to have the shot without looking around. Should have been dragged. If Meredith performs, Amon will be lucky to get back in the side.
He has poor skills, and his premiership credits have run out.

                        Fair enough.
                        Buy why bring in Ablett?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

The changes probably wont make make too much difference, unless we have some positional changes - i.e. Goodes or White to spend more time deep in our FWD 50.

I look through the current line up and wonder where 12 - 15 goals would come from? Barry at FWD is too easy for Teams to counter as there is no other key forward they really need to throw a gun defender at. They can affor to double team him at will.

Most teams would be happy with Okeefe wandering around collecting 20 odd touches and 1 goal and Grundy is easy for most teams to cover but still might get 1 or 2.

I think many of us thought our defence went ok last week - our midfield was smashed and we were totally ineffective in our FWD50 after we stopped running.

IMHO We dont seem to have the options in our fwd line to kick a winning score ATM. Why not play a Lewis in a FP with Goodes or White at FF and Hall at CHF im not sure bringing in 2 midsize midfielders will make a difference?

Ablett was named last week and pulled out for personal reasons. I don't rate him but he's in the leadership group and plays every week - anyone who's surprised he is in the side has lost the plot.

Not unhappy to see Buchanan dropped - hopefully the kick in the arse that he needs.

Crouch is lucky, Hawthorn's smalls will run rings around us.

Tend to agree with you Waz, apart from the Lewis bit.

Why not rotate Goodes and O'Keefe through FF? The only two players in our side capable of taking a contested mark in the forward line. I'm not sure if that's the answer but to beat Hawthorn we're going to need to find some goals - last week's forward set up isn't going to cut it.
