I would say he is well above average and has been a better player than most seem to believe.

As for the GF mistake, It wasn't the only mistake in the game that nearly cost us, just the most colourful

Not entirely, apart from losing the grandfinal off his own boot thing, I reckon it would be fair to say that Ablett is at best a average footballer who at times has really only held his spot in the team because of circumstance as opposed to form and abillity and that is nothing to be ashamed of. I would gladly be and average AFL footballer anyday of the week and every team has them. and I would say at presant we would have easily 12 to 15 average AFL footballers on our list some will improve and others will stay the same

At times he looks a little like those big red tackle bags .

But he works hard and derves credit where it's due. Many other players have played for many other clubs who either didn't make it as far as Noggy or didn't deserve their place as much. I don't think too many players have played 122 and not earned their place... especially duing a successful era.

Noggy has an appreciation society, but we are not very vocal. I like him, he is kind of like Benny, not brilliant but a swan nonetheless

Agree but manages to hang around and play well enough every now and then after countless opportunities to get picked Apparantley a nice guy so that's great but unfortunately the Swans are a football team and ability in football should be the criteria for selection. Roos needed a forward against the Dockers but the policy of making everybody play in defense and non toleration of the prima donna attitude of many top forwards have left him short on top forwards. If we had Didak or Milne we would have moved them on.Needed someone to kick 4 in the last quarter..now when did we last have a player do that??????? But that guys defensive game was not good enough while Nog's is? Wow! This is going to be a long hard year!

Neither can I? The only explanation I can offer is that Roos really rates him.99% of supporters would give him no chance in one to one with Pavlich. That coaching move didn't help our chances of winning and it was Roos's fault not Abletts. Can't expect him to beat or equal Pavlich or even neutralise him.

Who else would you put on Pav, in the middle?
Maybe Goodes, but he had his hands full with Tarrant.
The rest are midgets, even compared to Ablett.
