What really frustrated me was; as bad as we were in the first half, in the 2nd half when we looked like we had a head of steam, we just slaughtered the footy going forward with shocking short kicks over heads, nothing handballs, 10-20 metre kicks if that landing a metre short etc and gave the Dockers easy turnovers, so releasing the pressure.
Any chance Luke Ablett might release the ball before he retires or has a positive disposal.Comment

I think our tackling sucked jimmy sticks. Continually, Freo were able to get a ball loose to advantage, or even get their hands free for a clean hand ball & for a team that is supposed to pride itself on tackling pressure, let alone the shut down, this aspect of our game was indeed most frustrating."She said 'Come look there's a wardrobe of love in my eye'. What tackling?
What roving?
What a load of @@@@ that was.
I'll never get those three hours back.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Just got back from the game. I was in the 3 tier stand behind the goals and I had almost a birds eye view of the game.
The thing that stood out for me is how much quicker Freo looked. Always seemed to get to the ball first.
Freo's tackling was ferocious while ours was piss poor. Too many blokes tackling with their fingers instead of their arms.
Our foot skills were also terrible. Buchanan, Malceski, Bevo, Kirk all butchered it nearly every time they got it. Kieran Jack is another one. He's a good player with good potential but if he doesn't work on improving his kicking then he's never going to be anything special.
Grundy played well when up forward, but was ordinary when moved back. Surely there is a lesson to be learnt here.
ROK really doesn't look interested. I'm dead serious. He seemed very half hearted tonight. I don't give a @@@@ if he wanted to leave Sydney, the fact of the matter is that he's still with us and should be required to give 110% as always. If this doesn't improve next week then he should be banished to the magoos.
Impressed with Thornton. There's nothing special about him, but he's just a good old fashioned player.
Buchanan should make way for Moore next week. Ablett, Jack and Malceski should be on notice.Comment

The Swans were nothing short 0f woeful last night. That was painful to watch.
Freo absolutely smashed us in the clearances and even when Jolly or White got the tap the Dockers were getting first touch.
General hand and foot skills were down badly.
Freo always seemed to have two or more free men and were able to move the ball quickly while we couldn't seem to get two clean possessions in a row.
Every time we looked like possibly coming back Freo answered with a quick goal.
Scoreboard flattered the Swans at the end. We deserved to get thrashed on that performance.
All in all a very disappointing and frustrating night.Red & White forever.Comment

I couldn't agree more with the poster who noted that our tackles don't stick - time and time again we would tackle, they would still get the ball loose and we would have 2 or 3 players on their hands and knees whilst they spirit the ball away. Been happening all year.Comment

As for the rest of the game, it was just too painful for me to offer comment. I drove my partner from the living room, I was cursing and moaning so much.Comment

Yes painful , losing to @@@@@@ Freo.
Got them the wrong week and Pavlich was due, though we must be better than what we delivered last night ,espacially early.3 goals down after 5 mins and its pretty much what we lose by.
Positives :
Jude Bolton : Probably his best game at the club , busted his backside.
Kirky : At least had a crack and tried to bring the side with him.
Shaw : Another solid hitout and warming to him every week.
Special mentions to Brett Meridith, bloody clean & good footy mind, Darren Jolly again ,Goodsey in parts and maybe Marty Mattner as well
Negatives
Our Disposal (main offenders Monty,Noggy,Kirk,& Keiren Jack )
Pace keep saying it , we are slow. especially bigger grounds.
Freo were simply way to quick last night
FORWARD LINE : Simply no options
Nick Malceski : Buy the Canberra version of the Melways Esky.
He has lost all confidence and is playing scared. He is running in circles and wont put ant pressure on . God , I hate watching him like this.
Luke Ablett / Amon Buchanon : Well @@@@ me.
Craig Bird : Whilst I think he may be Ok, gee he will never be a household name. As a midfilder you must make same sought of presence week in week out and Birdy just goes. On bigger grounds he to slow and doesnt put his stamp on many games. Like the boy, though he is just a player.
Ryan OKeefe : Bloody hard when Hall and Mick are out, though some might say heres your chance and show us something.
What happened over the summer has hurt him and us. he is giving us nothing, whilst he had some impact in the 2nd half he is out of form and clearly not at his best mentally and physically. where is his usual run ?
Bloody dissapointing loss against Fremantle.
We must be on our game against Richmond : Cotchin,Cousins,Simmonds and Raines all had good games in the 2s , hopefully Richo may be out though.
We must bounce back straight away next weekEst 1874
