[QUOTE=Nthblood;436303 and Dale Lewis. Both great players, lots of talent and potential but in my eyes never really lived up to that potential week in week out.

NO NO NO...Dale was my favourite player.....I'm serious...and the best of blokes off field. LOL...he was a classic!

LRT had a great defensive game. But the efficiency stat is one of the most meaningless in the AFL. Not hard to be efficient chipping around the back / half back line which is where the majority of LRT's possessions occurred, hence his 92% efficiency.

Veszpremi will be brought back in once he's match fit because his development as an elite player for us demands it.

Agree 100%. He might need a few games in the magoos before he's ready to play in the 1sts.

Gotta disagree on this easy disposal argument that keeps getting bandied around. LRT had a lot of really good disposals yesterday (25 in all) and to criticise him for this is to criticise the whole backline who at times all do this.

Veszpa should play over Thornton IMO. I have noticed that Thornton seems to be inconsistent between quarters and doesn't kick enough goals. Veszpa does have a wayward kicking style, but he adds a heap of spark to that forward line and always chips in with a goal or two or three or four! Veszpa will spend a couple of weeks in the reserves to get some game time but as soon as he is ready he will def come in.

They are different type of players. The issue is can we have both Moore and Vespremi on the forward line as permanent small forwards. One of them has to develop into a mifielder/forward very quickly or we can't have two tiny tots on the forward line together. Thornton is a tremendous mark for his size and gives a lot more in the air.

Why can't people comprehend simple passages of text?

LRT was criticised. Someone said his stats were good. Someone said stats are deceiving in the context of uncontested chip kick in the back half. No one said LRT was crap because he had a lot of uncontested possessions in the back half. Just that it does not mean he was good.

Yes Thornton is utterly inconsistent for a 3 game player coming off a total knee reconstruction and I think may have just reached the ripe old age of 20

Why do we continue to beleive in this guy?

He is too small and weak to play a key position and continually gets muscled out of contests.

In addition, his skills and decision making are woefull. (You can actually see him change his mind while holding the ball.......talk about a poker face).

Cheap stats do not equal a good performance!!!!!

I watched the game and cannot beleive that he was in our best.

Unfortunatly, there was a moment were I thought he might strike an opponent yesterday and get rubbed out (wishful thinking). Then again, what was I thinking - he could never harm a fly, tiger, docker, blue, lion, hawk, saint........... (and that's where the problem lies)!

If you don't beleive me - then total his ave rating on Inside football per game over the last two years. This guy is far and away the lowest scorer in the league for any player that has played more than 5 games in their career.

My TEMP solution, get Grundy into the Back half. He is not quick enough to play forward but would be a valuable body down back.
.....and start recruiting CHB & CHF type players to build a team

Last years top pick was a good start.

The most confusing post this year. LRT has had one bad game this year and has been assured in every other one. So I'm not sure what your on about.
