For some of us its a major problem. I am not in a position to pay $25,000 for this block of units to have foxtel installed......think I am kidding! No I am not. We have to wait until about 60% of the current owners etc die. In some cases it may be soon. In others it will be a long wait. I am hoping wireless Foxtel gets invented and set up. By then I will probably be too old to work out the hand set works.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I don't understand why this keeps coming up, Foxtel/Austar have been involved for over 7 years now, nothing is going to change from now. All teams are going to have pay tv matches and the Non Melbourne based teams are going to get more pay tv games than the Melbourne based teams.
If someone can't afford it or is anti pay tv, then there are ways to see it free via pubs and clubs.
The other way would be to request more 2pm Sunday games from the AFL as this guarantees Free to Air Coverage.Comment

lol, fair enough, but it's still only 12-15 bucks a week though! But no one has to have pay tv and we all can afford what we can afford or want to afford. I just think the biggest thing is that everyone has to accept the reality of sport in this country. To see everything you need Pay TV and Digital TV. Just having plain old analogue TV is going to give you less and less as time goes on.It is on top of

Are you offering to pay for me?
Naturally, considering it will be turned off by the end of 2013.10100111001 ;-)Comment

After someone posts $100 bucks a month as the cost of Pay TV, I think it's quite reasonable for him to point out the actual entry pricing and then his view on the general affordablity of the price.
Not quite sure that is the point I was trying to make, but in anycase, any sports lover without Foxtel is going to miss out on more and more.
Not really my problem though, I think I might just let everyone continue to complain about Foxtel games while I actually enjoy them.Comment

Oh hell, you could go without toilet paper surely!
My problem is not only watching the game, its the fact that as a fully fledged tragic, I have to keep a clear recording of it (when we win) to salivate or pick over during the summer months. One viewing at the pub just won't do.
And the bottom line is, some of us just do not have the disposable income that others have. Its a fact and that's that.If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Exactly. And I shudder at the thought of going down the route of not being able to watch sport on TV because you can't afford pay-TV. The poms can't watch the Ashes without paying for Sky, and that's just ludicrous.10100111001 ;-)Comment

Are you going to pay my $100.00 a month, because I sure as hell can't afford it.
