yeah who was that guy that allowed the media of Australia to fall into the hands of a few guys(who would never screw you!).Didn't they also cut the ABC's allowance so that free to air sport was too expensive for them.Maybe that came later ? Years later we are all screwed! Thanks Bob and Paul.Oh thanks little Johnnie too for continuing what amounts to a dictatorship of the media. Now we are generally rated as having the worst most expensive media service in the world. I pay $15 a month for more channels than I can ever watch.I also have a big black disc that catches the South African sport channels and Phillipino satellite,Thats free if you know how to tune itand get the key.(which I do)Thats another 30 channels. My point is Australians are screwed particularly you guys who are on pensions and can't afford cable or sattelite. The crap they put on free to air is unbelievable. They must be purposely trying to dumb society down.I used to have to watch SBS just to get some world news.

Delayed telecasts, Club Swans, Local Pubs, Your mate that has pay TV....

4 alternatives for those that don't have pay TV. And guess what??? It's not going to change. There is NOT going to be more Swans games on TV than there is now so I'd suggest you get used to it.

I take it you are not bothering to nominate for any humanitarian compassion awards this year?

personally i don't think subscribing to foxtel for the swans games only is value for money.

Channel 7 have 3 unused channels sitting there. For them not to show the game live on one of these channels is inexcusable, and baffling. Isn't this the whole point of the 'Freeview' marketing push?

My problem is not only watching the game, its the fact that as a fully fledged tragic, I have to keep a clear recording of it (when we win) to salivate or pick over during the summer months. One viewing at the pub just won't do.

And the bottom line is, some of us just do not have the disposable income that others have. Its a fact and that's that.
Tragic is when you keep the recording ... even when we lose.

Seriously, I'm waiting for someone to say back in the good old days.....

There is more Swans available on TV than ever before yet people still whinge. Having every single swans game on FTA TV live is not only impossible, but commercial suicide for the AFL and the clubs themselves and at the end of the day, guess what?? Footy is entertainment and you have to pay for your entertainment.

LOL, I use 'your mate that has pay TV option quite a lot. Usually I preceed my visit with a text saying something like..."Hey friend, how would you like the pleasure of my company on Saturday/Sunday afternoon? Lets get together for a catch up as we havent seen each other in a while, and no I not coming over just because the swans are playing on Foxtel " Usually works, if not then its off the the pub.

LOL.... Yep, was a fan of both myself. Still often head to the pub for the game which costs me a hell of a lot more than $56 for basic Foxtel. And that's just for ONE game!!

The most frustrating thing in Melb in the last few years, is the fact they now show the games that are in Melbourne over games that are not.
Now that the AFL is rolling in $$$$$$$$$$$$, due to the TV rights they don't have to worry about "bums on seats" anymore, like they used to.

I don't expect to see every swans game on FTA TV. But I expect to see them more often than they are. So far we've had 2 games, out of 6.
One was the Saints game in Melb.
The other was against the Hawks.
We may get Rnd 8 v WC.

I've argued with the salesman before, give just what I want and I'll subscribe.
I don't want to pay for a @@@@load of stuff I'll never watch.
And I DON'T want to give my family anymore opportunity to enforce anymore reality TV on me than they already have.

For those who do not have Pay-TV, there are significantly fewer Swans games on TV. TV shows are entertainment, and I don't have to pay for the majority of them.
