My brother just rang and he was at the game.He is petsitting up in Sydney in his retirement and thought he would rock up for a game at the SCG and watch a neutral game(Carlton supporter)
He said it was a culture shock to see how late Sydneysiders arrive at the game and how early they leave. He said the song was good and that we nearly gave it away

First the dog was a nuisance then a person that has MS that visits me about once a month on Sundays came around...didn't have the heart to say piss off as they have had a big regression recently...so I was beside myself...half listening half trying to be civilised.
Sounded as though Ted had a good game. Sounded as though it was hard to get space in our forward line. Sounded as though Meredith did a good job.
Moore's stats didn't read well..not much better than Pyke's.(had a Chamber like look to his stats but he isn't as unco as Torture..there is hope with Pyke)
Sounds as though Beavan did a good stopping job on Bahas..kept hearing crunching tackle.
Naha slipped the kid only twice. Put a tight choker on him. On one occasion the Bevantor nearly belted the ball into the Showgrounds on the spoil.
Just back from the game. Relieved we overcame a bad second half to hold on. Perhaps the legs were a bit tired from playing at Subi last week?
Shaw had a great game for his 100th and I also thought Meredith in particular was tremendous.
Very frustrating how slow we were at times - both in moving the ball and foot speed. Our first option coming out from defence seems to be to look sideways or backwards instead of long options. LRT is the worst offender, I wonder if he's instructed not to kick it forward?
Our skills were quite ordinary at times. Plenty of butchering from the usual suspects. No wonder we're afraid to use the corridor.
However it's pleasing to get a win and successfully bring back MOL and Barry into the forward line. We're much better with them in the forward line and ROK also had his best game of the season, probably no coincidence.
"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk
I was impressed by Pyke, he put on a couple of solid blocks, and really and truly, they used to get impressed by only a year in the game, and he has had six games in all! Lordy the man is a Unit! He will be just fine.
I am on the Merry bandwagon. He is a little beauty. Well done son.
I feel for Satch....however I trained everyone I know to check if a game is on before talking to me. They even asked what was happening when they were organising a wedding, in summer.
Isn't Jude a treasure.
And Kirky.
And Mick.
And Teddy.
And LRT.
And Craig. That'll do for now.

Ted was fantastic! The Swans defence as a whole outplayed the Tigers' forwards, there were a lot of poor decisions going forward which let them back into the game, I thought we looked a bit slow too though that may have been the Subiaco factor. (Edit: or perhaps the heavy track? the ground LOOKED like it was in great condition but we did have a LOT of rain last night)
Tigers finished the game full of running but they too let themselves down with their decision-making. I wonder how long Wallace has left. They still aren't playing great footy (and neither are we really except in patches) but showed a lot more heart today and still seem capable of more.
Mattner's tackle on Riewoldt was sensational and probably turned the game...the players looked spent but that seemed to give them a much-needed lift. O'Keefe got his hands on the ball more and had some crucial touches in defence but still seems not quite his usual self...ditto Goodes. Our forward line looked better with Hall and MO'L there though Hall was not all that convincing. Meredith played well again!
Pyke did OK in the ruck and is already better than Chambers (hehe) but if White is fit I'd expect him to come straight back into the team next week (not that I expect us to beat Geelong, hah!).
Re the Sydneysiders coming late thing, I'm not sure if it's the 1pm starts or the traffic/inferior public transport...you see a lot of people still enjoying a beer at the Fox and Lion next door until just before the game starts so it could be a cultural thing. When the sun came out I was half-inclined to head to the ground early to check out the ressies...but had a flat tyre.
I thought the whole backline wa terrific. For years they've conceded fewer goals than most other sides but a lot of that has been put down to the protection they got from the midfield. They're not getting that much at the moment but are proving to be a pretty decent defensive unit in their own right. Teddy had his customary couple of brain fades - what was he thinking just standing there in the middle of the ground in the first quarter with ball in hand? But otherwise he was terrific. Shaw and Mattner didn't stop running, while LRT and Bolton stood up well too.
They needed to be good, mind, because with Macca having possibly his worst game for a year and a half - boy, did his fumbles hurt us - and Jude, Kirk and Goodes all seeming a bit subdued, the team never really got going in the middle. It was good to have a semblance of a forward line back, though both Hall and Micky were patchy at times, and I liked Grundy's game. Can't wait for Meredith to get more confident and/or stronger/fitter so that he gets the ball more often because he generally uses it very well.
Kudos to Richmond midfield, they were very good at the stoppages. I tend to think we were lucky they didn't play Cousins as he would have been the X factor.
I was very very very irritated with quite a few umpiring decisions today (probably 7 of them). Kirk was held at almost every stoppage particularly those in our F50 at the cheer squad end which I had a quite a good view of.
McVeigh maybe had the flu (a bit of swine lite?) or something because he looked very sluggish and as Liz said fumbles were terrible.
Moore was great. He's a brick with arms and legs. Tough nut.
Mattners tackle was highlight of the game. Talk about never giving up.
That clearance of Pikes that lead to the goal was pretty good for his highlight reel. Looked like he totally mistimed the jump but serious large leap. Incredibly physique. Still needs more time in to learn the game. But could have been worse.
Brent Meredith was excellent and I enjoyed watching Thornton too.
We missed Bird today I think.
Good to see ROK back to his usual role and felt that he really stood up in the final qtr.
Magic is great.
Baz looked a bit off today but I think he will get better. He lead hard a lot and I think was right to show cranky face a couple of times when they weren't honoured and we pfaffed around getting it in.
