And one other thing. If the Maggies think they're hard done by, imagine how they would be teeing off at the AFL if they got the raw prawn deal the swans copped today. AFL would be adding a few more k's to the account Jeffrey's 5,000 went into ....

I'm surprised Mattner wasn't pinged for a push in the back after that game-saving tackle, that's how confident I was with the umpiring.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

Both clubs have (obnoxious) Presidents who fly the flag and have a go when the club perceives sub-standard umpiring against their interests. I can't recall the last time (if ever) our chardonney fluting useless article of a President ever complained about the woeful run against us by the application of policy driven intepretations emanating from the crazy cottage in Melbourne. Its been left entirely at the level of the coach talking to Gleishen (who couldn't coach a choko over a trellis fence). The fact is we have got what we have deserved because as a club Sydney have never campaigned against the bias. Just a minute of your time please Dick

Clarification: Of course i was referring to both McGuire and Kennett. Big mouth copped a five thousand quid fine and stuck to his dig. Both are appalling individuals but show a bit of ticker against the Sun King and his toady Ando.

And the tide turned for the Bombers after the Hird/McLaren stoush. That was the best 20k the bombers ever spent. Further proof that picking a fight with the AFL is a better tactic than copping it silent!

It was lop sided - even though there were some called against us that were correctly given, some others though had me scratching my head thinking "Huh?". Will it ever improve?
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Shocking display of umpiring.I watched on TV and it is so obvious that the commentators are have their lips zipped as it was disgraceful.I don't know what the numbers were but it looked very one sided from what I saw.

I dunno - did you hear the commentators going off about the 50m penalty that wasnt given against Burddy Franklin on Saturday? - he blatently played on - he heard the umps call for a free against him but no 50 was forthcoming to the Blues. The commentators were going nuts over that because it was so clear that a 50 should have been given, they maintained that the ump was too scared to make the call. I havent heard ump criticism like that from commentators in a long time.

I noticed that too. They (and not just Walls) were also livid about a whistle on Judd for incorrect disposal when the umpire was on the wrong side of the play and the reverse camera angle (to the umpire) showed that he clearly got off a handball.

It's been said once or twice before, but one thing that run home from the commentary of that game was a frustrated commentator blurting out "if you don't see it, don't call it!".
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Macanneerrny was a main contender for tool of the week, but the biggest has to go to the three gamer whose name I refuse to remember. Useless as T O A B. Bet he won't get a game next week. And Head was EM!!!! We protest.

The umpires were really bad and appeared to see only one side of infringements.Time after time blatant infringements agains us were ignored and tiny ones against Richmond rewarded.Did someone say something to them to upset them or was it just the Melbourne bias? I think their decisions cost us a convincing win and made it a close one .When they see the tape they should be embarassed by their poor performance.

Like others here have said, it was the inconsistency of the umps, paying frees to Richmond that werent paid to us, that infuriated me. Over the shoulder seemed to be ingnored when infringed on us. Ump no 21 was the worse, denying us two easy shots at goal in the 2nd qrtr. I also have no idea why we were disallowed a goal in the 4th.

Yep I noticed it too watching it on TV. Umpiring was shocking, does anyone know what the actual free kick count was at the end of the day? I really would like to know this but cant find it anywhere.
