Me too- it's lucky that there was enough of Uncy Warwick to go around
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I wouldn't call Bird as a genuine midfielder at this stage of his career.I like what Roos does with him as he gets alot of free ball around the flanks and is rarely seen in the up and unders where you find Kirk,Bolton and those tougher blokes.Bird will end up there when he is physically ready.

He's already 5th in clearances and 9th in contested possessions (per game) on the team whilst playing only 60% of game time.

He reminds me of a combination of Simon Black and whathisname from Freo who won the rising star and is back this year after aknee reconstruction. The body movements are very similar.(the old brain just rmembered..Haselby)

Bird gets bashed around a fair bit during play so a decent rest should refresh him and he should come back feeling alot better.I wouldn't be surprised if he had multiple minor injuries that have caught up with him (I hope that's all it is).

That was not quite what I was thinking of, but I should have seen that coming!!
